I won't say that it wasn't an attack, but it was a terrorist attack, no nation (to my knoweldge!) has confessed to be behind the 9/11 attacks and contrary to popular belief, Al Qaida was NOT the Afghan government of that time. For example 9/11 was not the first time someone intended to destroy the buildings, as there has already been a bomb detonated in 1993 below the north tower. And it didn't trigger a full military conflict with some nation. Maybe because it only killed a handfull of people in the explosion, and no one would go to war for a number which has not at least 3 digits? Who knows ... but I never claimed to be a politician. That's why I said military actions between nations, I mean terrorist attacks are horrorible no question about that, but you can hardly call 9/11 a military operation or agression against the US, particularly not by a foreign nation. And I always cringe any time someone brings up Pearl Harbor in the sense like 9/11, as atrocious as the attack was, but you can not really compare that with WW2.
