Vance's Not All That Lucky Hat

I recently did the quest to vance's smg. When I looted the male's body, I found Vance's lucky hat. I was joyful, considering how I'd never get the lucky shades. I looked at the effects: Perception +1. Just like any other hat. It's basically a unique pre war hat. That's kinda cool, since my character always wears a pre war hat. I'm just saying that maybe Obsidian can make the hat increase luck in a future patch. I mean, it's only called Vance's LUCKY hat.

Considering the way Vance & Vikki died, do you really think his hat is lucky at all?
 
I solved this quest the peaceful way, it didn't seem worth killing this really naive couple just for a unique hat.
 
Vikki and Vance museum. Notice the SMG the robot talks about is missing and have a high enough science to figure out how they hacked the robot.

Well I can make a quick mod if you like to add +1 Luck to the hat if your on the PC. Was going to do something like that anyway as wearing naughty nightware while gambling just isn't my style and the lucky shades are Legion only.

It's an unmarked quest, ask Primm Slimm to tell you the history of Vikki and Vance and he'll give you a note that eventually leads you to this couple north of Vegas that are planning to rob a casino. You can either kill them or convince them it's a bad idea and either way you get a unique 9mm SMG called "Vance's submachine gun"

I found them accidentally, on Wikia.
I had completely forgot about that quest as soon as I left Primm, since after that, I made a big pause in New Vegas, maybe a week or two, and when I returned to the game...well, it's obvious.

Vance's submachine gun is a pretty decent SMG and the house isn't that far out of the way.
