Various Mod Stuff

I'm currently working on the 2nd version of the hero attack animations pack. Its gonna be a good one, but some of the new attack types I'm working one take quiet a while to make.

Once I'm done people will be able to implement crossbows, the ray gun and off course throw sledge hammers at people

If I get keen I might expand the attack aniamtions to include some of the raider models so that they can throw their hammers back at the player :)

And of course the player will also be allowed to throw a spanner into the works.

I seen that club got options to thrust and swing but game use only swing. Can you Wild_Q made this work? Anyway remade clubs into swords should be easy.

 I didn't know "Black Steel" is a medieval mod...

I don't believe it is, Lich just made some fancy sceneries, which might not make it to the mod in the end...

I need about an infinity number of slave... i mean scripters. I would do all the scripting but I had to get a real job and all I have time for is mapping and design. You dont need to be perfect, you just have to know how to script. I will even correct your bugs, you just have to produce the bulk of the script.

Just email me(Projectbnw@xavierblazer.com)
or PM me.

Game dont need to be medieval for use swords.
I like it better than knives- and other melee weapons.

Ive been heavily scripting for about 2 days now.

In about 8-10 days there is a great possibility that a demo of about 30% of Las Vegas will be released. features include:

2 Quests
*1 quest where you have too look for a crazy homeless mans sanditch that he dropped and he gives you a useless bag of shiny mini plates(coins)
*1 quest where you confront a mysterious man in the shadows and you steal an experimental drug from the hospital by sneaking in there or killing all the doctors and taking it or posing as a doctor and taking it

1 three leveled map

1 sequence where you get captured by guards and are locked in a cell and get to break out somehow.

...and much more

At one point we tried to make a hand-to-hand attack suffix for the rifle so we coudl have a bayonet attack, but alas it didnt work :(

Yes, but swords in a post-apocalyptic setting are quite problematic. Crafting a sword, especially a good-quality one, would be extremely difficult with available tools and materials. On the other hand, a simple and improvised sword would lack quality, power and balance of its professionally crafted counterparts. In fact, it would probably be inferior to other melee weapons - it would be more unwieldy than a knife, less powerful than an axe or a sledgehammer and less durable than either. It would also lack versatility of other melee weapons. In addition to fighting, with a knife you can skin animals, slice food, cut through various obstacles and peel logs. With an axe you can chop wood and meat, and break down doors. A sledgehammer can be used for shaping and forging metal, and for breaking stuff. But a sword is pretty much useless for all purposes but combat, and even there it isn't the best choice unless it is exceptionally well-crafted.

True Ratty, but I must add two things...

Even if impractical your bound to find swords around. I mean not many people do it, but some people (Nerds) collect mock or replica weapons from fantasy settings or medieval weapons for show. Its quite lame, but I imagine you'd find weapons around like that.

Also, I would imagine desperate people taking jagged pieces of metal and attaching them to pieces of wood or plastic to make rudimentary swords or the equivalent of.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

True, but popularity of fantasy setting came in 1970s, so such swords don't really fit into the Fallout setting. In addition to this, these replicas probably aren't strong enough to withstand actual combat or keen enough to do any real damage.

Such swords would be very unbalanced and poor quality. I'm not saying they shouldn't exist, but they would definitely be inferior to other, more commonplace melee weapons.
