Vault 15! (Wastelands Chapter 3)-OOC

ACtually no. This is not correct. The outpost is merely a guarded area to the North of the raider outpost. The raider outpost is to the West of Vault 15, between Vault 15 and Shady Sands.

The Rovers are there to stop people from getting to Vault 15. Since the most likely entry would come from Shady Sands, they have placed themselves between. Because people might go around t he main Rover camp, the Rovers have camps around Vault 15.

In a sense, the Rovers are the guards of Vault 15.

Alex's raiders may, or may not, be the real Vipers- the raiders that the BOS knows so well. It's possible that they adopted the name only to sound tough and intimidate people. Alex's people were to the East of Vault 15. THe Rovers targetted them because they were too close and because those who work Vault 15 need humans to do their bidding.

The outpost is merely a guard tower to the North of the major camp. It's purpose is to block or intercept any approach from the Northwest.

The problem for the Vipers is that the outpost also sits at the head of a fertile valley. SInce the Vipers would like to resettle, they want that land. To take that land they must remove both the outpost and eventually the main Rover compound. But they are to weak to do it themselves, so they have recruited our team as allies.

Does that makes sense?

well, since the original plan got flushed down the toilet, it's down to improvisation...

inserting a tower wouldnt quite work at this stage i think... theres too much written about a shack and stuff and nothing about a tower.

how about having some raiders open up a trapdoor or something in the roof of the shack and having them mount some sort of support weapon on the roof?

That's not too important. It could be a shack, it could be a house, the specifics aren't important.

What is important, is that the outpost is not the structure atop of Vault 15. The outpost is merely a guard post from the main rover position.

OKay, I think that it is safe to say that this outpost could be a series of buildings and that the only structure we have seen thus far is a storage shack for weapons that is a little ways from the rest of the putpost.

Just my think on it.

Funy :) All the time I was figuring a tower (Age of empires style)

Anyway, if we do state its a tower, no harm done. If not no problem either. Lets have fun, shall we?

OCC- MAG? Plasma Grenades? You do realize that the outpost was a thinly defended guard post to the North, not a Vietnam firebase right? We are still at an early point in the Fallout game. I think these weapons are a bit over the top.

fair enough, let's dissect your objection:

for those who do not know: an FN MAG is a 7.62mm squadlevel support weapon (that has been given loads of names all over the world). more or less an older and bigger version of the well known M249 Minimi SAW.

and to be perfectly honest, it was but one plasma grenade. that would make it singular welsh, not plural. ;)

you said that the Rovers would be "well organised & trained" ex-BoS, raiders, mercs and whatnot. in that respect it's normal that some of them might have an extra trinket or two, don't you think? (also read further the part about the Vipers)

i added the firepower and destroyed it so that we don't get stuff beyond our level...

at first i tried to propose a strategy to fight the Rovers, but you guys didn't bite (well, you guys said you did, but then you wrote something completely different). ok, no hard feelings, lets improvise. Rama and I gave you guys a shack, with some guards, nothing special. we let a raider patrol go missing, so the others would have something to kill as well (and heroically save our ass).

then you wanted a tower instead of a shack, so i gave you some sandbags on the roof of the shack to simulate a small tower overlooking the land a bit (= elevated support position for the Rovers).

however, to keep the story believable (and keep the things said in previous posts), we had to account for the mercs springing up from everywhere (in some people's posts the raiders were springing up like rabbits. hell, some posts spawned over 10 raiders at once...). so i give them a little encampment on the slope of the hill. such numbers require facilities, so i provided them...

we got a girl with an assault rifle
we got shotguns
we got a guy sporting home made nailbombs
we found a couple of bulletproof vests
we got explosives

and we ain't even past V15 yet...

hell, i was all game to give the raiders here just an odd SMG, a rifle or two, a shotgun or two and a bunch of pistols and spears.

you yourself spawned a bunch of "snipers aiming at our heads" @ the Vipers. then you went on to say that the Vipers didn't stand a chance against the Rovers, which means that the Rovers are even better equipped than the Vipers. (and lets not forget a bunch of snipers are a very powerful tool)

it's fair to say we deviated quite a bit from the weaponry found this early in the game. however, in the game it is done to even out the early levels, but if you think about it, it isn't quite logical 'irl'. nevertheless, it is a good thing to keep things interesting.

this is about all i have to say.
if my post is so bad, you can just delete the post welsh and i'll write up something new (no hard feelings), but it looked pretty believable and logical to me when i wrote it. sorry if i went out of line, but i got forced into a position that wasn't my choice in the first place, so i had to improvise...

Disclaimer: keep in mind that this is not a personal attack at anybody. if you feel personally targeted and criticized that wasn't the aim of this post and i'm sorry for it.

Personal ATTACK!!! Ha ! I hate you now! I curse you! Be careful! I own a Voodoo Doll and just might use it Damn you! May your first born be killed in a stampede of gay pigs! Ha!

Ok, let's not be silly. But yes, I agree with points above.

We need to get this little battle under control. The outpost I had in mind was only guarded by a squad of well armed mercs. A site from which patrols originate. That more Rovers are coming up could be the patrols coming. More Rovers are on the way.

But all battles must come to an end, and in roleplay, we must share the fun. Setting up badguys to knock down like bowling pins gets a bit boring after awhile- one reason I advocate tough badguys and falliable good guys that miss more than they hit.

But enough- let's finish up this battle because you are going to get hit again by Redeye and friends.

In that fight it would be likely that you make the Rovers bleed a bit, and perhaps break them somehow- but they are probably better armed and well trained. They won't come at you in marching order but will do so cleverly.

Yeah, she did add that part nicely... Okay, so whats the Deal Welsh? We divide or what. You know me, I am game for anything and both you and Suaside have coordinated this little play well enough thus far. I will manage Inne from my part and perhaps Zeke... Prudence should be online sometime soon.

Is it too late to get involved in this story? I have a plan for a character (cant make it right at the moment, class soon) but I dont want to ruin the story if its already too far into it. Otherwise, Im not sure how I would explain him into the storyline.

Enter in a character and we will see what happens.

If you don't post for five days, you will be killed off. The longer you stay, the longer we will forgive lapses in posting.

Sorry to be brutal but we don't have time to waste on new characters and players that don't commit.

Quite understandable, I've roleplayed before and know how that score goes. At any rate, I posted a new character on the Character thread (Ivan Kerensky, aka "Crazy Ivan"), I hope he will do for the story. If I get the ok Ill try to fit him into the current events, or very soon afterwards.

Guys, Ive had some real life issues coem up, so I'll have to take my leave from all RPs but First Mission.

Feel free to use my PC however needed, or just kill him.

Usually it's wise to let the manager weave your character in. So hang on.

you could drop em into the V15 mine as slave labor

but he would've to salvage his gear once the shit hits the fan...

I wouldnt mind roleplaying such a thing out. Just waiting for the, er, weaving and such. AKA a casual mention of a description of my character, or something to build on, etc.

don't worry fireblade, you'll get in soon enough

welsh is just a tad busy atm i suppose...
