Yeah Saxons were OK.

They were the first to cross the Atlantic and discoved American continent. That is, if you don't believe that the Egyptians got there before them.

And yes, the natives of the American continents got there before.

Not sure if there were any Finns among the Vikings. Kvens were known to live in both coast of Norway and in the area of present day Finland.
 
first thing first, you could use the term 'norsemen' instead, as the term viking itself is newer than feudalism itself.


frankly i prefer volga bulgarian viking over their western cousin (sicilian norman might be an exception, i love them) simply because of how those glorified pirate butcher our land and dishonor our language, which made worse by norman of normandy. our language (Gailge) simply felt decline until perhaps around earlier 20th century (yeah those famine didn't really help either). Sicilian norman on the other hand, is perhaps one of the shining beacon in dark age of europe thanks to their tolerance of the muslim, jews subject under their land. it flourish and produce the finest blend of arabic, persian, berber, norman and byzantine culture. Well at least until the time holy (this time) roman (never) empire come.

I love traditional folk song, one of my favorites came from icelandic culture.

And you obviously don't know your shit if you say Vikings and Saxons were clones. Vikings were Pagan and Saxans were Christian for a kick off.

Saxons were originally pagan, with beliefs very similar to the Norse ones. They converted though... JUST like the Vikings.

I do remember watching a documentary on an exiled Egyptian royal making it to America. Wonder how accurate that was without searching for it...

Thanks to your ancestor for keeping mongol at bay! it take 600 year to figure out how to defeat nomadic empire; Mobile fortress & war wagon! (something that both roman, greeks and ancient china never thought of)
