Vin Diesel to starr in Hitman, the movie [might be bit old]

Jovan

First time out of the vault
Well, the end has come.

ALL THAT HUMANITY HAS HAS JUST BEEN OBTAINED. indeed, all our base are belong to hollywood and Eidos's ownage.

First, Tomb Raider gets forgotten as Jolie takes the main role and completely shatters the game.....

Now, Vin Diesel, the mainstream shitbag with nothing better to do but say shitty quotes like "Whoa this is way better than playstation" will *probably* take the Hitman role in the upcoming movie.

Well done Eidos, I can't wait for some asshole to pull a Postal outside in middle of NY.

For those of you who think, "Well vin diesel is a great actor", i've got one comment: BULLSHIT!!! He's an utterly incompetant actor who does not know how to concentrate on one role. One of those, "generic" actors. Only known movie to come even close to Hitman(yes there's an armada of them) is The Transporter, starring Jason Statham, transporter 2 is under way.

There's an online petition somewhere to somehow convince Eidos to not hire him and perhaps hire statham instead.

The fuckers will pay.

Here's a little http://shortenbloodylinkspeople.daaayum
google for you

I can't really imagine anybody other than Vin Diesel who would be better for the role. The Hitman is a pretty one-dimensional character. It's not like this is The Professional 2.

You're saying that a completely flat character like vin diesel who does nothing else but blow shit up is capable of starring in a movie that requries complete stealth?

Please, it's all about experience.

While I agree with the assessment on Vin Diesel's "acting" ability, I have to say that for the most part, making movies out of video games rarely come off (Wing Commander is probably my most painful example of this).

What? It's easier to be directed to be "Stealthy" than it is to actually be stealthy. How are you so certain that he won't blow shit up? It's not like you couldn't go in guns-a-blazing in the games.

If you want a Stealthy hitman they would commission a real hitman, or a covert-ops type to consult all the "Stealthing." You don't really act stealthy, you be stealthy.

All he really needs are a few incidental character-establishing hits in which he does something clever in order to reach his target. Have you honestly thought about how much Hitman game content actually translates into a good movie?

Because in the "games" you ALWAYS found a savvy way to "deal" with your targets. Whether it's starting a triad gang war, killing a person by leaving him in a steam room and turning the temperature up to full, or simply choking a man NEXT to his wife with a pillow, it beats the crap out of vin diesels "bust out with a motorcycle" bullshit.

Incase he does blow shit up (limited), he wont do it like vin diesel would. Instead of topping it off with a bullshit cliche phrase and getting his ass noticed BY everyone he'll probably act like anyone else.

So the answer to your question is: Lot's of Hitman stuff can be transfered into a good movie, much of it is savvy and very well thought up stuff too, things you don't usually see in today's movies.

No, see, what I'm talking about is the stuff that leads up to the hits. You honestly want a 90 minute movie about several non-related hits?

Yup, Hitman: Codename 47/Hitman 2: Silent Assasin/Hitman: Contracts are games too long to be squeezed into 90/120/150 minutes, and even IF that was done, it'd be hard to show how the hits are related to each other, as nearly everything is explained in the briefings and letters.

BTW, "Pitch black" anyone?

[Oh, and "It's better than Playstation" was the quote from the character he played, not Diesel himself]

Actually I agree with Bradylama on this, but I am also in a minority who doesn't really mind Vin Diesel (Pitch Black was still an excellent flick).

But I think the idea of trying to develop signficant personal depth based on a video game is kind of dopey. Most of these flicks are just cartoon action-adventures anyway and that calls for fairly one dimensional acting. So Vin Diesel is probably fine.

What is more disturbing is that Hollywood is so uncreative that it depends on video games for movies- that's fucking weak.

Then again, I am going to see the Merchant of Venice this week.

Vin Diesel = talented actor with a shitty agent. Even if most of the films he stars in are horrible, he still manages to carry them well.

Jason Statham would be better, but meh.

As long as Uwe Boll isn't in the director's seat, it won't be that bad.

Yeah, and the games industry these days doesn't suck?

Anyways,
Pitch Black = cool
Vin Diesel = cool
Hitman = cool

Vin Diesel + Hitman + Hollywood = (most probably) not cool

Hold on a second what is this bullshit, start your own revenue/spending topics elsewhere. back to the real topic:

They don't need to squeeze in the entire storyline, one or two missions. Our best bet is if the director makes a scene where he (hitman) untrails some hidden base.. etc .. blow shit up a bit ....

There's nothing wrong with Vin Diesel. "Pitch Black" is an awesome movie, one of the best SF of the last years.
Plus, he's into RPG's and D&D. That's cool and nerdy at the same time. :freak: 8)

Ok, topic has been split and added.

My thoughts remain that this sounds unimaginative and uninteresting except for a video and beer.

Not to say that you couldn't make a good movie out of a better game. It just hasn't happened yet.

Or, it could become the best Video Game movie on a technicality. =/

Then again, I still think Super Mario Bros. was a cool movie. Cool, not really good, but I thought it was a movie worth making and watching.

There's a MOVIE ON SMB? OMFG
!!!

lol gotta see it. I might have watched it.. some plumber guy coming out of the toilet in another place...

What? "Harold and Kumar Go Get a Beer"?
That movie would be 15.6 seconds long.

Being a film student, and a huge fan of the Hitman games, I'd have to say that Hitman would make a good movie, if they could pull it off. They'd have to be carful about what to include and what not to, or make up a whole new story and use the same character.

Stateham has already proven that he could do the roll well, since The Transporter was a similar character. If Diesle could do it, and prove that he could do it well, he'd have my respect. But I doubt he could: he's been typecast as a gum chewing, guns blazing destuction machine type of action hero, not as the cunning, silent assasin we all know 47 to be.

Personally, I think we'd need someone taller: Diesle is less than 5 feet tall in person.
