Wasteland 2 beta slightly delayed, Fargo says

Looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for Wasteland 2's beta, as Fargo stated on Twitter that he isn't quite happy with its state yet:<blockquote>Ok the beta for Wasteland 2 is really close but I'm not quite comfortable releasing it in its current (technical state).

I'm excited to get it in your hands but we want to give a little more love. Stay tuned!</blockquote>While this is a beta and it's disappointing to hear it's been delayed, it's nice to know that it's getting a little extra polish during this time.
 
Pretty much expected. Sometimes few additional days can improve final version of your work a lot so i agree with slightly delay (even if its kinda hard to wait ). Take your time guys. No need to rush it.
 
Inside information says expected release date is next Thursday.
 
The only thing that kinda annoys me is that each time I hear about delays, it's just a few days before something was actually expected. It seemed to me inXile was pretty okay with releasing beta in October, and I don't see how it wasn't obvious enough to keep this info until the last day.

Yeah, take your time inXile, no problem with that, but don't make me expect something while you're not planning to deliver it in time. No one set any deadlines for the release, so I think it's much more better not to give any dates as well until it is 100% ready.

Come on, it is beta, who would actually expect it to be perfect anyway?

Oh, come on, there are only 7 cases and about nine conjugation patterns in Polish, you can strech yourself a little bit just for Wasteland, can't you?

Also, I agree with Quarto. We were waiting for this game since 1988, we can wait a little bit more.
 
I'm only waiting for this game since Fallout 2.
No problem, it's better delayed than released with a lot of bugs, inXile is not EA.

Something like frequent crashes and problems on certain configuration, though, for example, would be severe enough that Fargo would want to keep working on it a while longer, especially considering I assume the first purpose of the beta is to get feedback on gameplay and generate some buzz.

That's brave of them, to plan the release on the same day as Age of Decadence.
 
I hope they're able to get the beta out to backers before the PlayStation 4 comes out. I might be busy doing other things at that time. >_>

Wait what? I thought Age of Decadence releasing was a myth handed down from grognard to grognard to get them through the dark ages of modern gaming. :shock:

Their release date has been "Thursday" for years afaik. I haven't followed it too closely.

For a while it was this October, then it became "the new demo for pre-orders is coming in October" and now uh, they missed that too.

Still looking forward to it, but basically never trust a date a developer gives to you, especially if that dev is Vince D. Weller.
