Well i played Fallout Tactics and you know, I miss some weapons. So I hope this guns turns out in Fallout 3. here's some of my suggestion.
1. The venerable Bozar!(or automatic SiG SSG 550 Sniper gun?)
2. Patriot .223 pistol, an M16 pistol version. (Please not the FO2 .223 pistol. It's an idiot who sawed a SIG sniper rifle. It's an expensive gun!)
3. BB Gun (not limited edition). Not Red Ryder but I prefer Crossman AIR 17 (I had one in my home. Looks like an M16 but it still a BB gun.)
4. SIG Stgw 57 /SG 510. Why? First is an ancestor of Bozar, it's hold a big bullet (7,62mm NATO or 7,5mm) and -according to my book- It is designed for Fallout Situation and Issued to every Vault in Switzerland (not a fiction! It's real!).
5. SS-1V1 (Copy of FNC rifle). Because it is a weapon made by my own country, no else! (Hehehehehe).
6. Alien Blaster! (Of coursee!!!)
7. Solar Scorcher (I often ran out of bullet you know).
8. BFG 2000???? (Heheheheheheheheheh. So it's no longer a rumour in FO2)

Wow! More 300-years old weapons!!! I suppose you'd also expect to see muskets and ball cannons in Soldier of Fortune 3...

[font color=#00bb00]- *Sigh* Go away.

Personally i would want these guns.

AK47 (why not? very plentiful rifle, would probably have a few in the post-nuclear ;) )

M4A1 - why use the m3 SMG when you can have the full rifle :)

Flamethrower - Different than the FO2 one, this would have longer range, maybe add a new "On fire" Status.

Railgun - Basically the guass rifle but more quakeish.

Mp5 - gotta have this

P90 - Bond guns are always good.

Redeemer - from unreal tourney.

Some form of flechete/shrapnel weapons, basically would work like a burst, but cooler.

Also looking foreward for some better throwing weapons.

Geee... not that P90 guns again!
Well, some not-300-years-old-weapon I suggest.
- FN 2000 (It's under development. Great guns, an OICW counterpart). It's also would revolutionized Fallout RPG.
- H&K/Alliantz system OICW. It would create a new revolutionary RPG!! Imagine, 3 ammo for one gun, the 5,56 mm rifle round, 20mm Grenade for grenade launcher, and battery for the scope. If no battery it will decrease your accuracy. Also the OICW and FN2000 is under develompent (altough the Delta Force currently used OICW in limited service) so in 2030 perhaps it's become the standard weapon for NATO and in 2077 there are still plenty.
- Walther PPK (legendary pistol)

First off, play Perfect dark, and see if you like anything from there...

Like, An assault rifle, that has granades as secondary fire,

-Rail gun (just a gun that can fire on people through walls and such)

-Hows aboot that sonic sound gun from "Minority Report"
hurts like hell and knocks people off their feet...

-Remote mines? (well, if its gunna have some realtime battle)

-what aboot calling an air strike. like if you made friends with some guy who's got a virtibird or something. Call him with a radio and if he's in the neighborhood, a couple of bombs will drop.

well, thats all for now, stay tuned for more!@

Eck...

Try playing Fallout 1 to get the idea of how the weapons were implemented and were designed to be implemented before the slight skewing of Fallout 2 and the abomination of FOT.

Not many would know the name of a gun in the time Fo3 would take place. Plus, there was a certain degree of charm to keep the Counterstrike shit out of Fallout 1 in having generic models and names for the most part. There was a couple of exceptions, but nothing so absurd as the BFG and some of the other things in this thread.

we used to barinstorm like this for ideas on gun mods..

I totally didn't even think, aboot how this is what we want standard....

sorry for my rambles...

EDIT: I just read this...

"SIG Stgw 57 /SG 510. Why? First is an ancestor of Bozar, it's hold a big bullet (7,62mm NATO or 7,5mm) and -according to my book- It is designed for Fallout Situation and Issued to every Vault in Switzerland (not a fiction! It's real!)."

Now, if the swiss are allways declareing nuetrality, why the hell are they building vaults??? and equpping them with fucken bozars??? Christ, they're gunna hide in vaults while they blow up the rest of the planet! and pick off people trying to get in the vaults with the rifles...

YOU sneaky bastards!
and all this time... I thought it would be the canadians...
I'm gunna start diggin my own vault

You actually missied some weapons in FOT? It's not like you can... Considering the sheer number of them all...

I'd prefer FO3 stayed in the Fallout World and out of the "I w4|\|t k3w| wepons aol pr0n lol!!11!1!"

I think Fallout 2 had plenty of weaponsin it and I atually think it had some wepona that shouldn't have been in it.

RE: Eck...

Whats wrong with having "counter-strike" guns in fallout? They are legit guns, and isnt this game supposed to be based on a post-nuclear time? Why wouldnt there be some P90s and M16s around? What about Ak-47s the most massed produced gun ever, I would think that would make it through. The game has ALOT more guns than counter-strike though, and some are alot older (M3A1, Magnum Revolver). Personally i wouldnt mind seeing an M3 Super in the game. What about having a K98 Mauser Rifle. That could work like the hunting rifle in having a scope upgrade.

RE: Eck...

Theese fuckin Counter-SWAT weapons should not be in fallout because the game takes place in the FUTURE OF THE PAST, remember that.(read the Fallout bible for more info).

I would have mourned the loss of my life if I had not already been dead.

I just finished reading Blade Runner, and I thought an interesting weapon would be the "Laser Tube" but it was pretty strong in the book, i'd like to see it toned down a bit.

RE: Eck...

WTF! They have weapons from farther back then coutnerstrike. M3A1 was a WW2 gun. If im not mistaken they have alot of assualt rifles that are from present times. What about the sawed off shotgun, H7K CAWS,and pancor jackhammer, they exist right now. I dont think any of the counter strike guns should be "ultimate" guns like guass rifle or anything, just decent mid game guns.

RE: Eck...

Well, now you know one of the reasons why hardcore fans dislike FO2 and FOT. The guns were added not because they were relevant in that timeline, but because BIS and Microforte got dozens of emails from preteen morons who wanted to see their "favorite" boomstick they just saw on securityarms.com . In fact, there should be an interview with Urquhart or Taylor laying around somewhere, where the developer confessed about that (not that it's hard to figure out anyway).

Fallout is alternate universe - remember that.

RE: Eck...

I duno man, even though it is an alternate universe, its based off our world. FO1 had regular chamber guns and everything, before peopel could "request" guns and everyhintg. Im sure 20-30 years from now people will still be using M16s and Ak-47s. Thats just my $.02

I'm sorry but this debate as to whether Fallout 3 should have weapons from Counterstrike strikes me as a bit of mental masturbation.

For starters, the guns are already there. Fallout 1,2 and FOT all incorporated lots and lots of weapons- some very modern, some antiques and others imaginary. Ideally these guns were set up to help in the story line, but even if they were there to satisfy the weapon fetish of some teen trying to overcome issues of sexual need and acne or if they run counter to the Fallout Bible, they exist. It's a fait accompli. Deal with it.

The guns for the new Fallout 3 should have to do with the game design. We don't know if the game is to occur after fallout 2, before fallout 1, between the two or even before the bombs start to drop. It could be anything.

Furthermore we don't even know the nature of the world. If indeed Fallout 3 is to occur further down the time line from Fallout 2, does this mean society has continued to slide or has it been rebuilding (which seems to be the pattern of the stories in both Fallout 1 and 2).

Assuming that this is a game later in time, then we might expect more primitive weapons, more ingenous use of waste materials to fabricate effective weapons. But then again there are those pesky aliens and the possibility that other bastions of technology have grown (like the shi of San Fran) that are creating new and more effective means to kill other people.

I think this is where the game is best, by mixing primative and modern effectively, relative to the time of game play.

I totally agree. More importantly though, the better guns should take a longer time to get to you.

Take a look at the naming for FO1 weapons. Most of them look like this:
- 10mm pistol
- SMG
- Assault Rifle
- Shotgun
- Hunting Rifle
...etc.

Take a look at FO2 now:
- .44 Magnum
- FN FAL
- Pancor Jackhammer
- PPK12 Gauss Pistol

Besides some exceptions, the naming conventions for FO1 and FO2 are clearly not the same thing.

As for "dealing with it", well, I hope that if FO3 will ever come out or if some brave fan will take on an RPG fan game, the designers will remember to put the function before the form.

Dude,
Not sure what your point is here.

So the naming is different, big deal. I got through a lot of Fallout 2 using an Automatic rifle that seemed to be the same from Fallout1. A lot of the guns are the same, just Fallout 2 expanded them. It seems in FOT you almost never see the generics but, oh well, that was part of the game design. Either to expand the sense of specifics, the scope, or to force the players to make choices (Hmm what submachine gun do I like best?) They exist. The game designers could take away the guns, but that might disappoint some fans who really want to see the Bozar again.

I mean, ok, so whatever? I agree with you, the function should come before form because a great looking game still sucks if it plays like crap. But I don't see that happening here. Perhaps more in FOT (but there the choice of weapons does matter more because its a tatical game).
