...Whaaaaat?

Mildly Dipped
I doubt it's real, but my friend sent me this. Anybody up for some experimentation?

Wall of textimage. What's the point?
Ugh, kids these days. Anyway, it basically says Fallout 3 has a weird easter egg in it with Three Dog talking in morse code in some places, and some translations form sentences and have a date at the end.

So you want us to say that Bethesda hadn't the time for a good plot but they implanted an easter egg where Three Dog is talking in morse? Dear god please don't let it be true.

Could be true, I mean it's not a very exciting in the first place, and pretty redundant, which has Bethesda written all over it :D

But the whole people getting banned for discovering it thing... And a few enlightened easter-egg seekers still trading emails about it... Bullshit.

I am sorry, that I don't know what "waaaat" as topic title will bring me to and that I don't really want to read some wall of text in green micro font.

Also I skipped over it and I call it bullshit.

The only reason why wikia admins and mods would ban people when discussing this topic would be, because they said lots of time, that it's bullshit and people should stop with it...

There is some misconceptions in that wall of text image; for one thing, number stations are typically believed to be used to issue commands to spies, not some sort of nuclear retaliation thing. Second, they're found on shortwave radios, not big ass radio broadcasts. They also don't have directly translated morse code, if they have morse code at all. It's typically just numbers/phonetic alphabet, with some kind of interval signal.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Conet_Project
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_station

The Conet Project is a collection of an extremely large number of recordings; it's free to download (and encouraged), so if you're in for a spooky mood or some atmosphere for some writing, go right ahead and grab it and listen to it.

As for this actual thing, I'd put money it being bullshit. Huge, copius piles of bullshit, assuming it's vanilla, unpatched FO3. If it wasn't, I could see some clever modder slipping this in, doing an impersonation of Erik Dellums. But I doubt that, and I doubt that Bethesda would manage to pull off this level of Easter Egg.

I'll do it for him.

tl;dr: supposedly there is an easter egg where the radio gives you predictions of the future in morse code and sounds like a number station. Supposedly predicted the BP oil spill and Gary Coleman's death.

everyone's tl;dr repsonses:

bull. fucking. shit.

common sentiment: bethesda could in no way pull off such a cool easter egg.

The second one is weak as well. Parts of it aren't even possible to do in Fallout 2.

@Canakin whoa eerie. Whats the name of this website?

Wouldn't it be funny if people who crack games and post them on the internet actually put in creepy little extras for the sake of messing with people and creating controversy?

I severely doubt it's true though.

...You "severely doubt" it? C'mon, there's no way you should even entertain the notion that this is for real.
True. That was dumb of me to say. There's no possible way this could actually be an extra in any Fallout game, but it is an interesting thing someone thought of.

Heh, funny shit, but completely unbelievable, just like the 'equip the ring' thing.

The only "big" secret quest I know about in Fallout 2 is the condom thingie, you know, where if you get the full body workout at the Cat's Paw and you happen to have one of each condom in your inventory (I think it's a red, blue and greenish one), you get the girl's stash and it's like mainly Gauss ammo or something.

I'm prety sure that was the last big secret Falloutwise, though.

The ones above, though, are completely unbelievable.

That Fallout 2 one sounds pretty creepy...even though it's complete bullshit as well as the first one. This guy should start writing horror stories!

Complete unbelievable bullshit, but it's still a good read though. I would totally love to have an Easter Egg in a game like that Fallout 3 one, but update the creepy radio predictions with information based on recent events when they happen with patches. The chances of somebody actually finding that sort of thing quickly is slim to none, but it'd still be cool to have.
