What are new games your excited to play this year or the next?

If I remember correctly, one of the requirements for the grant that CDPR got from their government to finance the game was that it needed multiplayer. I wonder how they will cheese out of that.
I guess they could just release the game singleplayer and then if the government complains, they can just pay back the grant money using the sales of the game or something. I wonder if that would work.

Who writes these things? Why on Earth would their government care if it had multiplayer, or stipulate that it must?
Because CDPR signed it and it said that it was for a computer game with multiplayer module/feature. When you get grants from a government, they are usually very rigorous with what you can use that money on.
As covered last year, the Polish government is partly funding several proposals from CD Projekt Red. In total, the Witcher 3 developer has been granted roughly $7 million to realize four game development goals, including “cinematic feel”, “seamless multiplayer, “animation excellence” and “city creation”.

I don't doubt that they signed it—and would be bound to it, but I do not understand why even the notion of stipulating multiplayer is even contemplated by their government. Did CDProjekt write it themselves, and promise multiplayer, and their government agreed? I took it to mean that their government would only agree if their demand for multiplayer was implemented.

New games, huh?

I would say Ion Maiden but the mix of atmosphere and enemies never fit right with me in those type of games from Doom to Quake to Strafe. It just doesn't click for me.

Within the next two years, the biggest one is hopefully Mount and Blade: Bannerlord. Seems to be the right mix of open-world player influenceable action in a fleshed out not!Eurasia setting.

After that are two cutesy games, Knights and Bikes and Mineko's Night Market.

Phantom Doctrine, a cold-war turned based tactics game.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is an Attila rehash working on the popularity of Vikings, but eh. Might be worth it.

Total War: Thrones of Britannia and The Three Kingdoms. I quite enjoy the Total War games as a history lover and look forward to the two.

Red Dead Redemption 2. I love westerns and Red Dead was one of the best. Here is hoping that the sequel is worth the hype.

Cyperpunk 2077. I don't know a whole lot about the game but I hope that we get more info this E3.

Cyberpunk 2077
Soul calibur VI
Street Fighter Anniversary (I'm tempted to pre-order as you get SFIV with it).
Whatever Bethesda throws out next (I'm generally curious, scared and excited to see what they do tbh).

Dragon Quest 11 comes out for Steam this September.

Still sad that the 3DS version of the game is not getting a localization. Being able to go to the worlds of previous games sounds dope as hell. The graphics even change to be the same as the game you are visiting. Like going to the world of Dragon Quest 1 and the graphics are the same as the NES version.

Still waiting on shock remake (2020 ffs), shock 3, prey dlc and routine. As a system shock fan its above all else importance to me.

but also should mention
cyberpunk 2077
interstellar marines (its development has slowed to a crawl but its basically my dream game)
star citizen (yeah the stretch goals and fans are idiotic but it still sounds really cool)
Maia
Xenonuats 2 and Phoenix point
pillars 2
wasteland 3
dark souls 1 remaster
bloodborne 2 (pleaaaaasssee I neeeed it)
last of us 2
nu metro
genesis alpha one (dumb name cool concept)
upcoming tomb raider
amid evil

Well I mean I'm kinda can't wait to get crash bandicoot for the switch , Not really a new game but still
