What are the best things? (recommendations thread?)

I can recommend a lot of the cartoons I've liked that I've seen since 2000. Because despite my age, anything that was released around 2005 and after is still new to me. I much prefer cartoons to regular television.

Older Spongebob was a god tier cartoon if you ask me. The after the movie it start having rough patches which turned into have just diamonds in the rough and then turning into outright trash.
I don't really watch many new shows these days. Last thing I watched was Making a Murderer on Netflix and I didn't pay one lick of attention to it, lol. I do love a good cartoon.

Last really good show I watched was season 3 of Daredevil. Love that show, pissed it got cancelled.

Sometimes I like to torture myself and watch movies or shows that are supposed to be horrible, just to see if they're really so bad.

Oh also, in terms of music, MJK of Tool has a side band called A Perfect Circle. Check them out if you haven’t. The song Weak and Powerless pretty much described my struggles with addiction

i love Buffy the vampire slayer, and by extension angel. the target demographic for this show basically doesn't exist anymore (teenage girls in the 90s) but hey just because its dated AF doesn't make it bad. also! the comic continuations is really good too. its of the same quality of the show or higher.

OMG, I LOVE BUFFY! It was my favorite show in high-school (and still in my top 5 favorite shows now) and I'm currently binge-watching it on Hulu as I type this.

Ah see when I used the Jazz IIIs they were perfect (then again I have semi-small fingers). I only started finger-picking cause I wanted to play the bassline of John Wayne Was a Nazi which wasn’t feasible with a pick.

When I play acoustic I use a pick though. I’m not a heathen.
I'm mainly a guitar player, but I picked up the bass pretty much exactly one year ago. For the most part I prefer fingers, even though my technique still kinda sucks, especially with three fingers. It'd be much easier to just play with a pick, but I like the sound and feel of fingers.
Funny, my first bass was an Ibanez SR506 from around 1996 or so with the odler, less contoured body and the ADX pickups instead of Bartolini. Plays like a charm, but despite being active my other bass, a Squier Classic Vibe Precision bass with an SD Quarter Pound in it, is a lot louder than the Ibanez.

Don’t worry man I suck and I’ve been playing for a while. As for the type of bass I play; I play a Fender cause I’m a skrub.

Eh, nothing against Fender basses. Love the Precision Bass :D
I always feel weird playing the low E string with fingers on a four string bass because I started on a six string and I was used to a low B being there stopping my fingers, especially when playing with three fingers. Not that I'm good with that on any other string with a string present to stop my fingers anyway, but hey, I'm a guitar player first and foremost.
Still better than the bass player in my band, who is probably the worst bass player in our band given that our drummer also has a bass and is thus presumably better than him.
I wanted to learn Death's Lack of Comprehension over the course of this year, but I never really praticed enough to nail it. Running out of stamina on the parts with two fingers, and just not having the precision on the three-fingered parts.

@Hassknecht precision is generally my issue on most songs. Speaking of band members that suck, I remember taking over as vocalist in my high school punk band because the original rhythm guitarist/vocalist’s voice was a combination of Marilyn Manson’s from the Beautiful People and the guy from MCR. It was metal and scratchy and nasally all at the same time and made a corkscrew feeling go up your spine when you heard it. Good for some genres, but not when we played Eagles covers, for example.

Okay so, best sitcoms.

i've already mentioned Scrubs. much of that show is fantasy comedy with relationship drama and genuine tear jerking moments sprinkled in. the cast is absolutely what makes this show because if it were anyone else playing these character im sure it would be annoying as shit.

these character are some of the most degenerate, sociopathic, narcissistic, unlikable pieces of shit ever put to screen.

watching them is an absolute joy.

honestly there doesn't exist the words that can accurately describe how horrible these characters are.

if you somehow haven't seen this yet just give it a go.

So in terms of Music.
My album of the year goes to Daughters- You won't get what you want.

I cannot explain how much I love this album.
As someone who was going through a hard time when I first heard it, this album just hit all the right places.
All of a sudden, that dark Pitt I was falling into felt deeper, and yet the ride became more enjoyable.

Man, this is a frightening album, I just adore it so much.

Example below of one of the album's best tracks.

But also getting us back on track, I recommend the game Marvel’s Spider-Man if you haven’t played it yet. The voice acting can sometimes make you cringe more than what I said earlier, but it’s a damn fun game.

Also, here’s two more because I am a generous God:

Best power-pop song

Best dead meme
