Ok, so what are you playing now, and what do you think of it?

By all means, if you want to start a post with others who are playing feel free to open a new one.

I'd like to hear a bit more discussion from gamers about other games they might be playing and what they think.

Me, not much actually. I have been having fun with a demo copy of Medal of Honor, but I won't buy it.

Don't like the control of other characters (or lack there of) and some of the movements of the opposing forces seems kind of predictable and weak. Still I like the fact that they throw grenades at me.

I've been playing Rainbow Six 3. Game fucking rules, I love watching my team open a door, throw in a frag grenade, then clear the room!

Since I lost the CD key though, I can't play it online. So I've been playing America's Army online. Taking the virtual medic class brought back some great memories (I was a 91W, medic), and the tests you have to take were dead-on, and the room with the Sim-Mans were just like the classes we would practice in.

The only thing that sucks about it is alot of the more advanced features of the game, like the Special Forces School, totally cram propaganda and recruitment ads down your throat. YOU AREN'T GOING TO GET ME TO REENLIST, GODDAMMIT!

Dude, do me a favor and put this in it's own post. I think a few people might want to discuss this as a seperate topic in itself. I have had some trouble with the Rainbow games. I got Rogue Spear and think it totally fucked my PC.

Anyway, I think it will sell well, and it might be good if we have a seperate discussion. Thanks for the post.

O, and more Victoria.
Basically, the only things I do now are read Ostrogorsky's brilliant History of the Byzantine State, the equally brilliant Focault's Pendulum, my homework, eat Grapleaves and Victoria.

Today I've been playing "burning CDs", and I've managed an all-time high-score of 6Gb free.

Medieval: Total War has kept me occupied for the past week or so, but I feel I've exhausted it. It's either too easy with the big or medium nations, or too hard with the small ones; it takes me less than a hundred years to control two-thirds of the map, by which time I'm spending more time balancing taxes than fighting. It also means I never get to see the units of the following age. Diplomacy and commerce are pretty much useless propositions since the former lacks any of Civilisation's complexity, while the latter dwindles out once you take over other sea-faring nations. However, it was a fantastic game while it lasted.

I gave the Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn demo (600Mb  ) another try, but it once again failed to seduce me. When a game sets such a slow pace with its interesting yet long-winded dialogue, the frenzied real-time combat comes as quite a shock. As a foreigner to the world of AD&D, I'm completely lost in its wealth of detailed statistics, despite my background in Games Workshop RPGs.

As an aside note, I have started my very own webpage at http://www.geocities.com/kurganfrau/KurganFrAuMain.html and uploaded my first gaming review. Guess which game I chose? ...... No other than the mighty ... Total Annihilation of course! :)

Finally, it's been five days since I've decided to quit biting my nails. As a result, I am already beginning to get more sound out of my guitar, so I've been playing Tarrega a lot.

I'm playing through Deus Ex again after playing the demo for DE2. The demo seems ok - the graphics are pretty good, and it seems to be on par with Deus Ex as far as atmosphere goes. A few problems though - the inventory system sucks, the skill system has been torn out, the controls are spastic and jumpy, and the augs seem cheesed, but it's hard to tell how much this stuff will effect the whole experience from just the demo. I'm waiting for a lot more fan reviews to come through before I buy it, but even if people who's opinion I respect like it I'm still gonna hold off until it goes down in price. $50 for 10 hours of gametime is a ripoff, no matter how good the game is.

Other than that, I'm playing through Morrowind again as well when I can spare a few hours. I'm planning to go through FO 1 & 2 again over Christmas/New Years when I can actually spend some quality time with them.

I'm looking for something new to play at the moment. I recently finished Knights of the Old Republic and Silent Storm. Liked both of them actually, the turn-based combat of the latter kicks the ass of the pseudo real-time of the former though.

I was playing Fallout 2, but lately I've been playing nothing but Galactic Civilizations.

I may try playing Enemy Territory again though as soon as I'm done with my Playstation copy of The Two Towers. Needless to say I'm a little excited about Return of the King. =P

Ack shit, sorry for hijacking your thread man...

Your a moderator, think you can transfer my America's Army post and all the replies to it to its own thread?

no it's cool. Folks, if you want to start a discussion about a game, feel free to start a thread.

I've been playing with Age of Empires 2 again recently. Not the campaigns, because they get tiresome after a while (and I already did those a year or two, three ago), but just random maps against a few computer opponents. Always fun. Great graphics (for a 2D engine). Excellent game balance. I'm still not sure whether I should say that Fallout 2 or Age of Empires 2 is my all-time favourite game. It's a tie, I think.

I'd like to play a new game of Fallout 2 too sometime soon.

I Love Age of Kings. My favorite army is the Spaniards. I like the mobility. Still the games take a bit too long sometimes.

Hey didn't they come out with Counter Strike on the X-box. I thought it was an internet game that people competed with each other over internet servers?

I'm playing two 500 level tests and a 15 page paper due in the next 10 days. :(

As such, no games inhabit my hard drive. :x

When life stops being mean, I'll be right back at HOI. In my Soviet game I'm are posed to invade the US in 1944!

gta_1.jpg

It's so much better than 2, 3, and vice city.

I recently finished Jedi Academy and now i am playing Galactic Battlegrounds.

Tried to play Return of the king but runs slower than Bush's brain.

Damn computer :x
