What are your political beliefs and leanings?

Leaning left. Getting more specific than that is a minefield, but I guess I am a "bleeding heart" when it comes to poverty and sharing and shit like that

Really if they'd just put me in charge God Imperator Vergil would fix everything in like a day so I guess I'm Divine Monarchist.

Social policy, center, right

Economic policy, center right

Environmental policy, center

Foreignl policy, right

Religious policy, center left

Education, center

I do not care if someone disagrees with my outlook on foreign policy, it's bound to happen.

I believe that all people are inherently equal, and will fight to defend that equality.

I believe in the inherent value of human life, and that it is our job, and more specifically, our government's job to protect that life.

I believe in unfettered freedom of expression.

I believe that we make a better world when we work together, not when we work against each-other.

I believe that we have a duty to take care and protect those people who never had a chance or lack the ability to support themselves.

I also want a one world government, or at the very least, a united terran government focused on conquering space and colonization than each other.

Most likely, with enough time and more posturing/fighting, we'll get there. But remember the saying, "Rome wasn't built in a day'.

Plenty of people like Lenin, Robespierre, Guevara, Castro, etc, have promised the people sky high dreams were just around the corner. The results were less than advertised.

You want a utopia and make fun of other people who also believed in utopias?

Am I missing something here?

I am not making fun of anyone.

I am saying don't expect everything to happen at once.

Free expression will, inevitably lead to disagreement and conflict.

Human life is also good. Yet historically, progress has always come with sacrifice, usually in human lives, among other things.

Sure all people are equal, but personal choices do matter.

People have a choice not to fuck around and do illegal shit. They have a choice to swallow their pride and live with their families if they cannot afford to live on their own. People are free to choose not to have children when they can ill afford it. They are free to make smart financial decisions. They are free to not do drugs and become drunks.

Great... it's just that the idea of a singular government and a paradise of equality will only happen through suffering, death and oppression. Which makes it a pipe dream as well any way.

I believe it will happen, just much later in history. Eventually, through science and technology, we will get there.

We have come a long way already. We no longer believe in slavery. We no longer believe in religious persecution (minus the extremists). We are taking steps to make sure we do no discriminate against gender or sexual orientation.

The world today, for the most part, has rightly thrown the idea of social Darwinism onto the trash heap of history. We no longer believe that certain races are not 'human', something that was widely prevalent as early as 60 some year ago.

Which is great! Instead, we replaced all that superiority bullshit for real reasons, like different foreign policies, resources and economics.

Ideals have to be held on to though. We are one single humanity, but we are divided into many different ways of doing things still. Some Saudi scientist a year ago or so, published some paper stating that the earth is flat because otherwise airplanes would fly into space (as they fly off the curvature)

What I mean to say is - some segments of humanity won't necesarily play along. More equality - sure - but at least one superpower (Russia) just took ten steps back in that regard.
Less weapons of mass destruction, but one more country aquired them (Nort Korea).

I have talked to enough skinhead-types to know that they fully understand the power of "generational shifts", and really seek to take advantage of it. Extremists may be fully aware that a current generation will oppose them to the end, but the next can yet be shaped while they are young and vulnerable (see for example millions of Youtube-rants, that are now part of our reality, that did not exist in the 90s for example, or see ISIS' tactics)

What I'm trying to say is, we can't take for granted that we are going the right way, just because we are headed towards the future. We have to be watchful about what we have, and strive to keep it that way - while also moving forward.

I've been a registered independent for over 20 years. I would never affiliate myself with either Rs or Ds. I judge issues on a case by case basis, not rigid party platforms. No thanks.
