What did you get for Christmas?

Socks.... that sums it up.

Oh, I also gave myself the DVD of "The Last Sentinel", watched it that same night for the first time, not the greatest movie but kind of neat.

A collection of the first 25 issues of Daredevil
Arne Anka, sort of a swedish satire comic ripping off Donald Duck
Some collection of Robert Crumb comics, mainly Fritz the Cat stuff I think
The Dark Knight and No Country For Old Men on bluray
Some crappy book about Obama that I'll never read
And some other stuff

I got a knick knack of an armadillo on it's back with it's feet up in the air. It's suppose to hold bottles of wine, but I didn't get a bottle. Cheap roommate. He's probably going to use it like a fag too. His girlfriend got me an Albert Einstein and Jesus action figure set. I should look and see if they have a Nietzsche one to compliment it.

Proper bed sheets. Pimpin' tiger style!

Note: Anyone making Leisure Suit Larry jokes will be treated to furry porn.

I got nothing as well, just like every year. Last christmas gift I got was when I was 10 years old (16 years ago).

Mostly books; the Audacity of Hope, Origin of Species (a nice edition), German for Dummies, Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky (similar to The Pleasure of Finding Things Out format-wise), which my now graduated sister had left over from a Political Science class. A few other things. Mainly though I get money to build my computer.

Wow, it's like coal that eats through the stalking.

I pulled a new pair of Nikes (convenient since my last pair of shoes came to me some number of years ago, used, from an immigrant truck driver), $200 in "entertainment superstore" gift cards, Silence of the Lambs, an appropriately bookish-looking statuette, a decent amount of shirts/socks/boxers, and the usual cheap stocking-stuffer curios. Oh, and, jointly with my girlfriend, a copy of the mega-deluxe fancypants edition of Spore.

That's more than I've received in all the years since I left home, combined. Getting in tight with your girlfriend's family can be a little off-putting for the habitual bachelor, but it's definitely got its perks.
