Sorry Cold Zer0, generalissimofurioso got it right.

It is a new retro title Capcom released as a prequel to their Dark Void game.

Ohhh, ok :) My mistake :) Anyway let my entry stay until the next time. Maybe someone will know about it.

Fightin' Spirit. I can't believe I remember that game, I've only seen a review of it once, and that was more than 13 years ago.

EDIT: I guess it's my turn, then.

Wow, more or less like me. I read one review and one preview and...that was it. God knows how I thought of that game.

And...god, it looks like a shameless AoF/FF ripoff. If it wasn't such an obscure game SNK could have brought them to court. :D

Alright, since I don't want to be responsible for killing the thread, I'm going to answer my own challenge. The game in question is A Tale of Two Kingdoms, a freeware adventure game notable for its non-linear story and drawing heavily on mythology and legends of sub-Roman Britain.

And now let's try again, this time with something easier:

Edit: had mine typed up and waited before posting, in which time someone else posted. There are two active ones now so I'll remove mine til it dies down again

That's KGB.

edit: This one might be a little obscure, but I remember it as a great game. In fact it's probably the first shooter I played that actually tried to tell a story:

I don't think anyone would mind if you posted an image out of turn. Just go for it. :)

I'm pretty sure that's CyberMage.

EDIT: While we're on the subject of first-person shooters, this one was one of my first:
