NMA/BIS regular poster kumquatq3 made an interesting post on the BIS forum about the current monetary statys of Interplay and the way Interplay's been handling its financial business. It's quite interesting. A snippet:

The Grand Total
The grand total that Interplay would have saved had those transactions
this year between Interplay and Titus (and its subsidiaries) not taken
place asthey did...

$305,000 + $3,407,000 + $1,710,000 + $227,000 + $60,000 = $5,709,000

A quick guess- One company, Titus is passing debt over to the subsidiary with the intention of cancelling debt through bankrupting a subsidary company.

Just a quick guess though. THere is more in that message that raises some ethical issues, such as whether Caen is violating his obligations as CEO through some inside corporate deals, but you would need a lawyer more familiar with this case to figure that out.

Note that if interplay goes bankrupt and it has taken over the debts, not all the debts if Titus will be liquidated. Interplay would be able to take advantage of the bankruptcy laws to shield itself from creditors, but these might not apply to Titus.

I posted it in the Gen forms in here too, you might want to link that one, instead of the one I posted at IPLY.

Again, I can't take credit for the research behind it. I'm just the poster of it.

I agree with Welsh on this one- the most striking thing about this is not the monetary amount, but that it implies that Titus acquired Interplay just to continually screw it over.

This is where my thoughts lay.

Is this legal?

Well Cappy.. if a SAM doesnt strike your fancy... 20-40 targeted mortor rounds might do the trick.

Quick question...was Fallout 3 development ordered by Black Isle management or Interplay officials? Basically, who gave the order to start development in the first place?

As always, Interplay management is focused on delivering great, profitable games and maximum shareholder value.
Yep, $.06 per share is what I call 'maximum shareholder value'.

If thats the case, I say we tape Capelworths stock to the nuke.

:D

My joshin' was over the top, but with all that weaponry talk, it just seemed like the thing to say. Lest it be taken the wrong way, there are still good folks at Interplay. Fewer than there were a couple of weeks ago, perhaps, but they're there. Anyway, from Kumquatq3's post, it appears possible that some outside factors may have played a role in bringing Interplay to its current situation.
