What was the point of Fallout 4's story?

Fallout 4 main story is boring ,short , and unimaginative .Game has potential ,but i doubt Bethesda has ability to impruve it.Hell, they even forbid speaking about theyr incompetence on theyr forum. See my first sentence? For thatsame sentance i got perma ban for "flaming" .

So what you're saying is you would rather Obsidian does Fallout on their own will rather than be strung a series of random requirements they have to meet by Bethesda. Also, you would rather Obsidian not get hand-me-downs and limited time from Bethesda, but does Fallout on their own free will.

Would you prefer an Obsidian Fallout under Bethesda or no Obsidian Fallout at all?
It would be nice to see a Fallout game by Obsidian. But there is no chance that there won't be some strings attached to it from Beth. So full controll is not really possible.

Given such a scenario, I would rather want to see Obsidian working on their whole own project following the spirits of the old Fallouts. A good role playing game following the footsteps of Fallout by Obsidian? Hell yeah! Maybe even turnbased? Who knows! Albeit, very little chance for that.

They should do that, however I would really like a more urbanised setting say in California.

I wish for a more urbanised and civilised setting to explore the corruption and instability behind the politics and crime within a rebuilding civilisation, but I don't wish to go over past locations again. The United States is huge and going back to old locations is a massive waste of potential.

True, there's a lot of potential in places like New Orleans and Dakota.
