What was your first RPG?

It's a rather big question, that mostly depends on what you mean by RPG. The first games that was and "RPG" that I played was FF:IV, but that's a JRPG, so it doesn't really count. The first western game I played that was called and "RPG" was Skyrim, which is barley and RPG. The first real RPG that I played would have to be Fallout: New Vegas.

Windows chess. Over a hundred million different plot points each move. A million more endings. Best RPG to date I've played.

If we're including JRPGs, then Final Fantasy VIII
If not, then possibly Fable?
However, if Fable doesn't count, then Knights of the Old Republic.

Out of the tree of them, Fable is the only one I've completed.

Well I guess my first RPG technically fo3... My first real RPG I'd say was new vegas. My first crpg was fallout 1.

If JRPGs count, Kingdom Hearts 1.

If they don't, then Morrowind, KOTOR 1 & 2, and Planescape: Torment.

Completed all five of those games at least.

Fallout 2 way back when it was first released. My father had come home with a new game for me and it was the one that got me hooked on the series even though I couldn't even understand english. As I learned more and more of the language it just got better and better for me.

The game gets better If you can understand it? Golly Gee Molly, what a revelation fish. :P but seriously what's it like playing a (mostly) text based crpg and not being able to understand anything? How did you manage to enjoy that?

Combat and visuals mostly. I mean, I was 9 at the time. Didn't require a whole lot to wow me.

So that'd make you nine years older than me yes? I came out the same year fallout 2 did. Seriously though... That'd Piss me off as a 9 year old. Not being able to understand what's going on or what I said or what they said. Nope.
