Hey guys, when this forum has been created? I mean sequelproject? Great thing, it is. I suggest we all discuss the "true sequel" issue there.

    Thanks, Keono!

I just try my best :))) thanks :) and why so sad? :)

Well, of course I understand my over-enthousiasm and subsequent haste look indeed funny, but I just want to get as many people invloved, and I'm currently working on it. Hence, perhaps, the weird post I make :))) no offense, mate :D

I registered there, however I could start posting seriously no earlier than tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll also try to introduce more people, which I have contacted already. Some of them will be offline, so I'll transmit their messages myself.

I'm actually making my own true sequel myself. I'd love to help, but I don't want to make any commitments I can't keep.

I think it would be a good idea to find out how many people can contribute to this in theory and how much so, It would take a lot of people to make a game especially in there spare time only, unless your thinking of releasing the game on windows 2050

Yep, thats what we're trying to do right now - recruit. So if you know anybody that qualifies (check out the forum we started for more info, link is in several posts on page 6) - then send them over and we'll continue to grow. This whole thing is only a couple days old so it will take us some time to get more members.

Invitations have been sent. I think I don't have to send invitations to those, who read/post at this topic? :)
    Continue looking for more people.

    Current state of "True Sequel"

After some time we want to show the current state of the "True Sequel" to you.

So after organization and finding the direction within the forum, we built up the web-infrastructure which consists of a webpage, the forum, a wiki, an IRC channel and an trac and svn space.

After some time the team shrank to only three people, but we started the things up are working on it.

We are currently building a techdemo and some dev tools, which will be done in near future.
With finishing that milestone, the actual work on the game could begin.

Part of this milestone is a first techdemo which includes a Vault Dweller running through a wood.

Some screenshot of an early techdemo test:

Early screenshot of SLICK which is a character generation rules creator/editor:

So we can use some people who have knowledge about Fallout , who are 2D/3D artists or can write stories or just want to contribute ideas. Java specialists are welcome too.

We could need a new Vault Dweller, be creative and contribute concept art and develop it to animation-sprites. You would directly contribute to the techdemo and thus to the later game. Furthermore we could use environmental sprites, like trees, walls and similar.

We also need a storyline done by Fallout geeks. Work out ideas for a Fallout Sequel, that can be fun really!

We really hope to find some enthusiastic Fallout fans here. :D
    Do not disappoint us :P

So if you are motivated and like the idea of a true Fallout sequel, then visit our webpage
get informed and when you are still interested, then pm me here or join the forum.

    regards

BlackRain: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game

BlackRain: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game

We're still here, and with a brand new working title for the project as there was some confusion about the previous one. The project is going strong, with a new forum, updated website, and a much improved wiki.

We made some huge steps with the game plot, as well. BlackRain will be set in post-apocalyptic Europe, ravaged by the nukes and internal strife, and highly influenced by the Chinese. We wrote our own history of Europe, down to almost every country! Location of the game is now known and we are currently working on the first towns, characters, and dialog! Check out our wiki for more info.

Additionally, we started to build a map-editor and have some very interesting plans for the techdemo. Great ambient music is currently on the way as well!

With the last news update we gained several new members who have been very important for the project and filled in many gaps, particularly in the game plot and isometric tiles section. We also gained our music expert and a new programmer.

However, given our recent progress, we are in need of more help. BlackRain requires concept artists to put what our writer has accomplished so far into pictures and some more writers to assist in the herculean task of creating dialog. We also are in need of people who can create isometric graphics, which will be particularly important for our techdemo.

Think you can help us with concept or isometric art, or with dialog writing? Visit our forum at www.blackrain.fifengine.de/smf/ and introduce yourself with a couple of sentences. For more information, check out our website at www.blackrain.fifengine.de (our wiki is located at www.blackrain.fifengine.de/wiki). You can also find us at irc.gamesurge.net #falloutfans.

    regards
    the BlackRain Team

Black Rain is still here! We have achieved a lot since our last update:

NEW CHARACTERS - We have loads of new characters in Outpost 13, the Main Character's home town. From barmen to guards, the city is gaining new citizens fast!

NEW QUESTS - With new characters come new quests, and we haven't been just idling about with silly fetch-it plots. Our quests and future quest ideas reach far into the future of the game!

NEW CITY - We are just starting our development of a new town. It revolves around a mosque and a church that have been rebuilt since the bombings and have sparked a violent struggle between the communities of the two faiths. Much of the town is in planning stage, but the quest and character ideas we are bouncing around the discussion table are very promising!

    NEW POTENTIAL
    - While Black Rain tries very hard to preserve the spirit of the original Fallout games, we are quickly moving away from the constraints of their world. Our project is paving its own path in its own style, giving us more freedom to implement new ideas.

NEW TOOLS - Our dialogue editor is currently in the works and will make dialogue writing much easier! Stay tuned.

    NEW POSITIONS:

    * WRITERS - We are, as always, in need of writers. We welcome those wanting to try out the position, as well as those who are highly motivated and willing to put in a lot of work into the project. We are particularly interested in finding FEMALE WRITERS, as we want to create a game that appeals to both genders and steps away from the nearly 100% male-populated fan base of the Fallout series.
    * ARTISTS - We have created some great character and armor concepts, but we need a more dedicated artist group that would provide a constant interpretation of the content that our writing team produces.
    * ?
