What's Your Favorite Drink?

Here we go again...

Fav of all categories: Pilsner-type beers, preferrably Czech; Staropramen, Zlatopramen, Starobrno, Pilsner Urquell, to name a few. Grolsch (Dutch) and Becks (German) are also pretty good.

As for stronger stuff, I can't stand booze - exept of course it's a cognac to go with the after dinner coffee. Preferrably Delamain XO Trio, or even Grande Champagne). I do enjoy a few longdrinks, though rarely induldge any.

I also like red wines on occassion. A rich wine to go with a well prepared meat dish is like a piece of heaven.

What I'd never touch: There's pretty much, but pure vodka, Bloody Marys and white wine are pretty high on the list.

I like many types of alcools, mainly tequila reposado and scotch (bowmore 25yo)

favorite drink: rum and coke

beer : not strong enough

Grolsch (Dutch)

Now, that is an excellent beer, although I must admit what attracted me most the first time I saw it, was the cool bottle it came in.

As to my favourite drink, I'm not really sure. Stolichnaya vodka is a good bet, I guess. Put it in the freezer for an hour or two, and drink it straight. I also like white russian (vodka, kahlua and milk), an excellent drink.

Besides that, I'm mostly a beer drinker. I'm always on the lookout for a new beer to try out.

The worst drink I've ever had is probably Stroh-rum, a Swedish (I think it's Swedish, correct me if I'm wrong) sort of ru,, containing 80 percent alcohol. I once saw a guy empty a bottle of that liquid shit in half an hour. He later told me that he had woken up at the hospital, 12 hours later, with his own piss all over himself...

A Manhattan. The first one tastes like shit but you won't taste anything else the rest of the night. I don't even know what all makes a Manhattan, but I know its mostly Bourbon which I have found to be a very high energy drunk.

Right continent. It's Austrian.

The best liquor I ever tasted was 18 yr. Glenmorangie. Heering is a nice liqueur (Danish), and Bénédictine is good as well. I generally like rum, detest gin. Like Jack Daniels, for some reason. Don't drink much of anything.

Of course, in Sweden they add a hefty tax to the price of alcohol in order to have only rich people afford the good stuff. They also sell it by way of a state monopoly whose directives are to a) generate as much tax and sales income as possible, and b) decrease alcohol consumption as much as possible. Supposedly that doesn't seem at all conflicting to someone somewhere.

the guy is VERY lucky. if a 'normal' man (standard weight, hight,...) pulls that same shit he's in a coma if his stomach doesnt get pumped fast... (& that aint no joke)

i once got a little program that calculated how much you could drink before reaching the happy state, loosing control, trouble walking, danger of coma, danger of death. was based on weight & hight. was pretty accurate. bottle of 80% alcohol in less than an hour = big NO NO!

How he even managed to keep it down is beyond me. I can't even take a sip of that vile shit, without throwing up. He did seem like a seasoned alcoholic, though.

The people with the real drinking problems can drink just about anything all the time and keep it down.

I would say that is a death wish

Drinking problems? Try this: a real drinking problem would be having a liver that is wasted and can't deal with even the smallest quantities of alcohol, so he gets by drinking just one beer, that is if The lack of a good liver doesn't kill him first . Now that is a problem!

Well, I am a complete lightweight when it comes to drinking, but before I become completely inebriated I enjoy Jack Daniel's and Coke on the rocks, or Bombay Sapphire and tonic on occasion. After I am blitzed (three drinks after starting) I'll drink just about anything, and regret it the next morning.

My favorite domestic swill is Yuengling when in Pennsylvania, and Leinenkugels Honey Weiss when in Minnesota. Otherwise, the nuttyness of Spaten always hits the spot. That and of course Guinness.

Alcohol is bad for you.

I believe that some researchers discovered that one glass of red wine a day, is actually healthy. I read that in the paper about a year ago, I think. So alcohol really isn't unhealthy if you consume it with moderation...but where's the fun in that? :D
