Which songs did you think the game was missing?

Still Mildly Glowing
This was a pretty interesting idea for a thread I had, which songs did you think New Vegas could have included? The first one which came to mind was Viva Las Vegas by Elvis Presley. I was surprised they never included it! Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra would have been great too.

They never includet Elvis, because the license fees are astronomical. For having one Elvis song, they would have had to scrap many of the other songs.

Yeah, Lexx is correct.

Kinda pissed me off considering there are like 6 quests named after Elvis Songs. And the Kings

Mods are always your best friend for problems like this. Saves the developers valuable money in the long run.

That being said, I would have liked to hear more jazz, radio shows, and maybe Johnny Cash.

In my case, a USB into the 360 was my friend.

Don't you think America's "Horse with no name" fits FNV perfectly?

70's music doesn't fit the theme, or am I wrong?

This was totally missing on Radio New Vegas
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pzQlw0oseuw

And this for those moments you have with your Chainsaw in fallout
http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=9c56x206KNU

And this for your calm eternal desert walking music
http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=i3HahMCQOkc

And last but not least... For your Bazooka moments in Fallout
http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=Jd0VCa1Uluw

I'd like to say I'm sorry if my honest opinion offends anybody.
I do realize that none of what I've posted would fit into the fallout universe but to me it fits anything almost.
Again, sorry if this pissed YOU off.

DEFINATELY Johnny Cash, it would've matched well with Marty Robbin's Big Iron (I loved that song being in the game). I wish FO3s title song had been included too; I love that song to death.

A song that totally doesn't fit the universe but would still match the setting:

Horse with No name.

50's style Vegas should include Rat Pack music on Radio New Vegas. Mojave Music Radio should have Hank Williams, Sons of the Pioneers, and Johnny Cash. Elvis could appear on both stations. How can you have a post apocalyptic game about an old style Vegas without the song "Viva Las Vegas"?

Thats why I load radio mods that expand the playlists to 100 songs. I can replace the copyright free songs that come with the mods, with songs of my choosing. You should all try it.

Probably because The King stated that all of the recordings of Elvis are now long gone, and the last that they ever found only lasted The Kings long enough for them to know/learn how to act for a proper imitation. If there were more or just other stations playing his songs, I'm SURE they'd have noticed.

From a thematic sense, yes, some Elvis was in dire need. But from a lore sense, that wouldn't be possible.

I know there's a mod for Fallout: New Vegas that uses a lot of songs from the atomic list. A lot of them are simply perfect for any Fallout game. Other than that NV had a great soundtrack, Blue Moon and Ain't That a Kick In the Head really got me into the rat pack. I just wish Mark Morgan was involved. They reused some stuff from previous Fallouts, and while I like and respect Inon, he ain't no Mark Morgan!

I don't see the fit for Riders on the Storm..was great for NfS though.

My fav fallout song of all time, the one that fits *perfectly* though, for ANY game, is "I don't Want to Set the World on Fire." That is a damn perfect song, I can see that playing while mushroom clouds reach to the skies.....epic.

I feel that perhaps the reason the lore was like this was to get around the fact that Elvis was not in the game. I am sure that if Obsidian could have put Elvis in the game, they would have...

Agreed on Patsy Cline. Got a couple of her songs in my Mohave Music Radio playlist; "Crazy" and "Walkin' After Midnight". Some of Twitty's early work might be appropriate. Early on, some people thought he was Elvis recording under another name.

Agreed on your second point, walking through the ruins of DC while that song is playing was epic
