Whoa. The doctor is IN.

First time out of the vault
I was looking over the Fallout 2 Wikia and found an item call the Pip Boy Medical Enhancer which adds 10 to your doctor skills.

"To get it, you'll need to steal the Spectacles from the Professor's radscorpion in Broken Hills and bring them to Renesco in New Reno. You'll have the opportunity to ask him for money, a discount on his wares, or to just let him keep them.

If you don't take a reward, you'll have the option to ask him how the glasses are working out. Do that 20 times, and you'll annoy him so much, he'll throw the Medical Enhancer at you! "

How would you ever think of doing that with out reading it somewhere and has anyone actually acquired this item?

Also are there any other moments in the Fallout games where you have to do something completely random to get a reward or some added dialog choice or response?

Shadow who walks says something after you talk with him 30~50 times.

Renesco is the best NPC to annoy in Fallout XD

Yes, he's the tribal in the raider caves, I don't know what he says since I saw it on the FO2 mega guide (or the wiki? Ah fuck it...).

I recomend taking the main entrace with the traps and scorpions because he went hostile when I entered using the well (he probably saw me and my followers attacking the raiders).

Edit:

From the Fallout 2 nearly ultimate guide:

"There's a native standing around named Shadow-Who-Walks. This is the native guide Stark was talking about. He won't necessarily join the battle right away, and it's possible to keep him alive and neutral through the entire encounter, although he says nothing and does nothing anyway. Well, actually he does say something if you click on him 30-50 times for a secret message. "

1)You wouldnt, unless you were the guy who found out about it and wrote it on fallout wiki...
2)Pip Boy Lingual enhancer :)
Though its a lot easier to find then the medical one.

Under the assumption that we all know about the Lingual Enhancer by now.

Edit: I was always wondering about something but could never pull it of. Is it possible to repair the water chip in the "Guardian of Forever" encounter if you just happened to to have spares from Vault City?

As soon as you use any skill or item on the terminal, including a spare chip, you break the old one and get warped out before you can do anything else.

Almost done with my replay with the Killap's patch. Interesting finding included npc text in New Reno while wearing Advanced power armor which is different from the T-51b power armor message text. And one of a guard in Navarro unintentionally sharing a name with a certain mtv D list actress.

Speaking of Navarro, does anyone know what the motor you find in the hanger is used for?

Nothing, it's just another completely useless item (there are a lot of those.) Well, the same item has some use in Restoration Project, but there is a lot easier way to get it.

Nah, that's K-9 motivator, no? AFAIK the 'motor' does nothing. Like so many items in Fallout.

Items like that piss me off, because I never have the heart to throw them out, thinking somehow somewhere I might be able to use them, if only I keep them in my inventory. Of course, that never happens :P

But didn't the yellow key card from Klamath open the deathclaw door in Navarro at one point ? I might be wrong, but I seem to remember using that to get into the base that way, or was it a bug ?

The Navarro Deathclaw door can be opened with the blue key card that can be taken from the Gecko reactor.

Just another pointless oddity.
