May I point your attention to a site in Nevada named [urlhttp://www.ocrwm.doe.gov/]Yucca Mountain?[/url] Perhaps the best location inside the United States for the long-term storage of nuclear waste (on the order ten thousand years) and removing that waste from the temporary storage facilities which it currently is stored (not one facility on the order of Yucca Mountain exists in the US). More feasible than burying the waste where it would be deposited into the Earths mantle, on the submerging section of a tectonic plate.
