Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?
Ok this thread is for those things that you find in Fallout 3 that make you go.. HUH?!

Try not to flame the problems with the story, and just stick with mapping and item locations.

Here is one I found just now:

In the springfield school there is a 'cell' in the lower level, and I'm not talking about that big cage in the middle of the school I'm talking about a cell that DEFINATLY was not put up AFTER the bombing, as its built directly into the walls / ceiling and is filled with small child size skeletons.

If there is some story reason I have missed for there to be a 'Ultimate Timeout' room inside a school, feel free to tell me that I'm an idiot and explain it. Otherwise, wtf?!

In one of the sewers throughout DC (I forget which one exactly) there's a wrecked car with two ramps on either side of it along with a flipped over motorcycle with the lower half of a skeleton by it.

The upper half of the skeleton?

Hanging from a lighting fixture hanging over the car.

I actually thought it was one of the cool things, the dead motorist.

Bethsada didn't do a great main story but they did some very cool little side stories like that.

As a real WTF place, I'd say the plunger room... that was... disturbing...

The cage was odd. I logicize it with it being a display case-like thing for trophies.

An odd thing I found: The toilet trap. Seriously, that's just cruel.

Oh, and Mr. Protectron using the can.

Did you try dragging him off the toilet? He's actually dropped a load of scrap metal in there. It was one of the few stabs at humor in the game that I actually got a little chuckle out of.

Hell yeah that was awesome! Absolutely ... creepy ...

What is this plunger room you speak of? And more importantly, where can I find it?

By far the creepiest moment for me was Vault 106. That was some messed up shit. In one of the corridors I saw a family running towards me, like mum, dad and daughters. They just went right through me....

What's so creepy about it?

BTW, I hate when they play those 50's songs, it ruins the atmosphere changing it into a comedy-like game.

I also hate that Bethesda tries putting some horror flicks into the Fallout. Maybe they're taking the "all games in one" approach, which I don't usually like (just like most action-horror-comedy-drama in one, movies).
Bethsada didn't do a great main story but they did some very cool little side stories like that.

It's hard to call them "side stories", because they don't create any stories or they end up being unfinished and half-started.

They're more like Easter Eggs, but poor ones.

Kinda like some guys at Beth got drunk and put some random stuff to the game, and saved it on the final piece forgeting about it.

Actually the 50's style atmoshpere is one of the few things I think Beth got right.

Not sure if the music is 50's, but if it is then its spot on. Still, they could have done without the radio stations I feel. Its nice to go through the wasteland with something to hear, but still, could have been done without it.

About the plunger room, I still don't know what it is. Youtube doesn't work for me.

<_< Fallout 1 and 2 had a lot in them that made them feel like comedy games too. Also, I'm going to assume you hated Shaun of the Dead then?

Never noticed the scrap metal. And ah yes, the plunger room. I remember taking as many of those as I could find, loaded them into the rock-it-launcher and.....well, was disappointed that they fired vertically. Alas, my Quack-Shots nostalgia shant happen until that plunger gun mod comes out.

Oh yeah, the Republic of Dave and it's history was a weird thing to me too. Funny as heck to me, because frankly I can see someone doing that post-nuclear death of the world and the like.

They got it right, but I think they over-used it.

The damn 50's references are EVERYWHERE.

some of the music is 50's era, but some is much older.
A few of the songs are 30's and 40's music.

The main song for the game, 'I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire" was late 20's.

And people weren't listening to 1920's or 1930's era music on the radio in the 50's.

Man the radio stations must of been boring to listen to if they've played nothing but 20s - 40s music for over a hundred years.

I dont know. I thought its pretty creepy the first time I encountered it. What do I know really ... everyone thinks different. I cant stand any kind of movies like "SAW". Others eat popcorn to it and lough their ass off ...

I just thought the idea someone closed in a small room with a nuclear attack outside and a radiated zone ... would go crazy. And all this plungers on the celling and the bleeding hands on the walls. Something like that creeps me out. Yeah yeah ... I am simple minded. I admit it.

My favorite "WTF?" moment so far is an old coot, shooting junk cars at the Minefield and those car... explode! Are they still full of gasoline? Or all cars are being made of explosives, according to Bethesda?

Fallout 1
Not FO1. It's atmosphere is not funny, except for a few gags, like "no, really, BIG rats!", Loxley, the donut answer, and the sandwich with the ghoul leader i don't remember the name because necropolis got invaded in my recent playthrough.

I'm starting FO2, that i got recently but still in Arroyo.

But let's not turn this into a FO3 bashing/defending shitstorm

The most Wtf moments were the first time i saw the crab-people, with it's Bizarre potential squared with the nuka crabs and squared again with their king.

Also, the whole Harold stuff. How the ****????
and his heart is bigger than my f***ing chest!

One word.

Andale.

Creepiest place in Fallout 3, especially the wierdo people. I was quick to put a bullet in each of thier heads once I saw the basement and shed.

God I hate that place.
