Why Mass Effect: Andromeda failed

This is a good but sad story.

The procedurally generated planet business was a stupid-stupid idea.

What the fuck does "Bob Dylan of videogames" even mean?

Man those stories about incompetent administrators, crunches and such really hit close to home for me.

It's a nonsensical fucking statement no matter how you view it.

Especially as the Bob Dylan of video games would be:

"Rebellious anti-establishment folk game which refuses awards?"

"Game covered by a lot of other studios?"

What Dylan are we talking about?

I mean, for as retarded and pretentious "Citizen Kane of videogames" at least it stablishes a clear and understandable metaphor. Bob Dylan of videogames tho? Makes zero sense. I mean if they wanted to not use the Citizen Kane thing while still wanting to be pretentious and full of themselves then they should've went for The Bethoveen of videogames, The Mozart of videogames...

One of the reasons should be the fact that this game is unplayable on low end machines. The first 3 games can run smoothly on low end machines but this game requires a powerful PC even on the lowest settings. So the people behind this game lost sales from Mass Effect series fans with low end machines. They could have just used everything from Mass Effect 3 to create a new game. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Mass Effect 3's graphics are still decent today. This would have allowed them to spend more time on polishing up the story, the gameplay etc but noooo....they had to build the game from scratch...and make it unplayable on low end PCs... When Fallout 2 was being made, they weren't making a game from scratch. And look at the result. One of the best games ever made. Now imagine if they had to make Fallout 2 from scratch to appease the PC master race graphics whores back then who wouldn't settle for less than Unreal or Half Life kind of graphics...

Thinking about it further, why even "Bob Dylan of videogames" instead of a song of his being used as the comparisson? Citizen Kane wasn't the name of the director it was the name of his movie.... Hol shit that phrase has multiple of layers of stupidity.

If they named it, the "All Along the Watchtower" of video games, it'd still be nonsensical but it'd sound pretty badass.

I mean it'd make sense if the game is Rock Band: Dylan but that's the only one I can think of.

Mass Effect Andromeda should be named the "Friday" of video games.

The Ernest Scared Stupid of video games.

Drop Dead Fred of video games.

Smells Like Teen Spirit of video games.

Coca Cola of video games.

TV monitor of video games.

Video game of video games.

Its almost as if releasing a game so shitty that people start ripping on it and making memes about how much it sucks, won't go well.

This actually reminds me of the original Homefront creation.

"This is going to be a Multiplayer only game."

"Okay."

*years later*

"What the fuck? Why make all this backstory with no single player campaign. Do a single player campaign*

"But it's like a month left to...fine."

*after release*

"Well, no one played the Multiplayer and the single player was way too short. By the way, you're all fired."

This is why I despise multiplayer-centric games.

They have so little replay value.

How many people will say "Hey, lets play Titanfall 2, that was an epic game" 20 years down the line?

Conversely, games 20 years ago are still being played, modded, and enjoyed.

"Multiplayer centric games have little replay value"

Seems someone is not aware of the existence of Competitive gaming...

Competitive gaming is like a wanking competition.

At the end, you're sweaty, and everyone sane thinks you're a moron.
