Why no continuation with DLC installation?

The game tells you that you can't continue playing after the final battle, and that you should make a save, so that means that you can continue anyways..... tangled logic son.

Nothing wrong with my logic bro. (Don't tase me bro!)

The game should've been clearer by saying "Please save your game because once you start the endgame, you will not be able to continue further in this or future downloadable content".

If you've played Dragon Age II, Bioware did something that could've been done here. After you've completed the game with the patented "If you have any unfinished business you may want to complete it now as you will not be able to complete them after starting", it let's you continue but you are basically confined to your castle where I was able to sell off any unused items, purchase things with the money I got from the final battle...etc. And in this way, it allows for future DLC to just be added on instead of making you load a game prior to endgame.

I had gained a couple of levels in the end game of FV and it would've been nice to have those extra perks and stats for Dead Money.

^FO3 was quite enjoyable, but it wasn't a true Fallout title and its narrative sucked.

I actually enjoyed FO3 as well. I was glad when it was over but I had fun.

Also, Gjefflin, triple post? Seriously?

I just feel that it's easier to read responses separately.

When you have 5 different posters and 5 different responses all in the same box some people don't take the time to read through it all. Writing 101. :)

Gjefflin learn to use the Edit button.

Thanks for the suggestion but if I edited my original post, no one would've seen the update unless i posted just to point it out.

Gjefflin read the forum rules before you get yourself banned,http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109.

Read them and thanks. I thought double-posting meant that you have the same exact post more then once. I'm looking but I don't see where I've double posted though.

I do not want to get banned however so if I am doing something outside of the rules please tell me. I am a member of many other boards and have always been polite and considerate of the rules.

Any time you have 2 or more posts in a row without someone else's post in-between, that is considered a double post; or triple post.... or, god forbid, a quadruple post. You did a triple post, and then a double post.

If you are replying to 2 or more people, you have to put all replies in the same post - we will see your entire reply, and not assume that you are not replying to all "attackers". Best way to do this is to quote/reply+quote/reply+quote/reply all in one post - or wait until someone else posts something.

I agree with you, you have some good ideas! cool man.
Thanks bro! stay cool, etc.

Continuation, installation, trepidation, inflation, cancellation, masturba. . .

What were we talking about again?

Oh right, dlc after the main game. No. They wouldn't and they won't. loading a save from before the end is easy. /thread.

Thanks bud. Got it and will adhere to this going forward. Mea culpa.

Also to everyone in this thread, finished it finally FRUSTRATING as H*ll but good feeling of accomplishment since I didn't throw my pc out the window after having to deal with those stupid radio frequencies that blew me up :) Decent writing and decent npc's. Although...I wish they didn't repeat the same lines over and over again while hanging with you. (Except the mute of course. hehe)

I'll be moving on though and probably won't buy any more dlc. The graphics for me at this point are too dated and there are some other games I'm interested in playing.

I'll wait for Fallout 4. :)

Christ almighty, what is with this? A DLC that lets you explore after the game's ending is simply not viable, end of story. With the way the game was designed, the tech, it. Is. Not. Viable. There is nothing to discuss and there is no argument to have! It is not viable, there, clear.

In Mass Effect it is different game design and they use all the different variables to create a story different depending on these consequences. They cannot do this with New Vegas, there are many, many variables. The only way they could do it is, as previously stated, by ruining the whole game and make it seem like nothing has changed like in Fallout 3.

Sometimes games just end. It was made PERFECTLY CLEAR that this was the case. Games end. Films end. TV shows end. Sometimes and often in games it is appropriate.

'Oh but they did it in Fallout 3'.... right, but why did they do it? OH YES because they completely fucked up the ending. The ending was the worst ending to any game I have ever played. Because of the collective groan and outrage of many, many gamers who found the ending nonsensical and IMMENSELY dissatisfying they THEN realised their gross mistake and created Broken Steel to cover up the fuck up. Broken Steel was a good DLC I think but it was their to alter a bad ending. Then after that you're free to wander around and realise nothing you did was significant, no one gives a shit about you or what you've done. Which is exactly how Fallout 3 made me feel. Even in the video it offered no consequences to your actions.

'You did this, this, this and this but d'you know what? It doesn't matter because war never changes and nothing you did matters, bye, bye'.

So don't talk nonsense about how a well written, definitive ending is worse than feeling like you never made a difference to anything. It is why the original Fallout ended. If they had different design that allowed some things to have changed after the ending, so that the chain of consequence was clear, then maybe it would've worked.

As it is it was not viable. They gave it a definitive ending and kept the integrity of the story, good. I'm glad, so should you be.

Not really addressing anyone in particular, just anyone who wonders this...
