Why The Master's Plan WOULD Work

It's too bad that supermutants are apparantly sterile. I was so excited about the ending in which you join the master. That little tidbit of information completely invalidates what could have been a cool choice.

So, just for arguments sake, the master and vats are untouchable.

Even in this scenario, humans seem to multiply much more quickly than SMs. Humans also have ingenuity and intellect, something which most SMs do not have (minus vault raids).

Problem is, SMs, while raiding for 'prime normals', would take casualties as well. One would argue the raid would makeup for those lost. But what about in large scale standing battles where the SMs are fighting to take ground that is strategically important but devoid of towns or vaults. How about casualties through guerilla skirmishes, in these fights there are no guarantees the human fighters are prime candidates, or even if there were, enough to replace losses.

Lastly, SMs do not seem to have the ability to operate normie sized vehicles. They don't seem to have real transport of any kind besides specially constructed wagons for dipees or the wounded. This is compared to varying groups of normies with artillery pieces, airpower, very few but workable vehicles, etc. Even if they were somehow successful, they would lose the logistical battle in the end run.

DarkCorp, but with who in specific?
Humans never would "unite" against SMs as Fallout proves.

If you're slow enough, Master Army is wiping out Hub, FotA, Junktown, Shady Sands and so on without problems...
Only BoS could match with SMs, but after all even SMs have more "manpower" than they/similar technology, so they would fail sooner or later.
Plus you should count that horrible BoS policy of doing nothing about SM threat as next step to their destrucion + aggresive master policy against everyone (having spy in BoS HQ)

Imagine how many SMs would be around, if Master and his army would reach New Vegas before 2200...
Vault 3, Vault 11, Vault 21, Vault 34 and maybe Vault 19.
At least 4000 SM's, most of them brainwashed intelligent Nightkins, born to fight only.

And it's only Mojave.

^ I think the only force that could truly stand against that sort of Super Mutant Army would be the Enclave.

Grimdark. Incredibly grimdark.

I mean, endless warfare of the thousand-strong mutant army versus the Enclave? one hell of a setting.

The Master vs The Enclave

That would be interesting, very interesting... but aren't the enclave ''clean'' humans? Because every enclave war prisoner would be dipped to a intelligent SM providing The Unity with new intelligent SM after every battle, they could change the tides of the conflict very easy if they take a lot of prisoners but still, I like this idea.

Good luck in taking enclave as prisoners...
Aganist Enclave, Unity wouldn't have chance. (like everyone, except player character)
Enclave could just go to Divide (or other places with a lot of missles), use nukes on few unity bases, dead end.

The Master *is* a genius. Who's to say he wouldn't have set up a robust communication network in response to the Enclave's presence? Hell, even Metzger tried to listen into the Enclave. I have no doubts the Unity would match them, by grace of their leader...

If they can't reproduce and they don't have an infinite lifespan (Albeit they do live a long fucking time, but not forever) then I don't really see how things are going to work out unless they make human breeding farms, which would be morally wrong on every level.

Also, was The Master becoming the LA Vault? I ask because I always assumed the Biological growths on the walls were an extension of his own body.

That's because they were. He was integrated into the Overseer's station, and from there he just spread across the rest of the surface of the Vault. That's why the deeper you go, and the closer to the Master you arrive, the thicker and more dense the tissue covering the surfaces become. As bad of a game as it was, FOBOS's final boss was inspired by the Master, which is why he became an amorphous blob that consumed the entire compound you were in and had to escape.
