Why would you play Fallout 3 today?

Honestly...no.

When I was given Fallout 3 I had never even heard of Fallout. I was skeptical that I'd like the game given the description on the game case. But I enjoyed playing it and played it alot.

But back then I didn't think as much about story and lore details. Now that I think "How do they eat?" and have played the originals (and New Vegas) I cannot play it anymore.

I will give it credit for introducing me to the Fallout series though.

Try Tale of Two Wastelands guys. :smug:

I'm actually replaying Fallout 3 these days because of TTW, latest version. Never used the mod before BTW.
WoW, the mod work wonders and change A LOT of the game, I'd liked.
Sadly it can't correct the sometimes awfull dialogs. :(

TTW also shows how Fallout 3 could be a much better game if the devs didn't choose to dilute the content to make the game more accessive for anyone.
I don't buy the "they are dumb and don't know what they are doing" version that floats around every so often.
The really sad thing is they chose to make Fallout 3 this way, Moira's quest is proof they can construct RPG quests with meaning and consequences (for the player at least).

Our likeness of the quest or character is irrelevant, the quest is a howto-RPG quest by the book.

I think I will try Quo Vagis's mod also, the version for NV (Coito Ergo Sum) is very good.
If the player aren't offended by nudity or tons of nonsense, of course.

Perhaps I'll give it a try once I've had enough of pratting around with the G.E.C.K.

Strangely the only thing I really miss from Fallout 3 is the Chinese Assault Rifle.

I have nothing but respect for you and the team of TTW, but I can't. It would feel like TOWUFA (Tale of One Wastland with an Unfortunate Fanfiction Addon.) I suppose your efforts might make it feel like an actual wasteland, but as I played that 'game' I would have many revolting thoughts of Daddy Liam, Amatahere, and Doctor Leave this 'game' as it is a predecessor to F4.
I have a new rule, any game with this guy in it:

Is out.

I replayed it as an evil character a few months back, I had a lot of fun with it. You can actually enslave children in Fallout 3, Emil is a true edge lord. Both FO3 and New Vegas supported playing an evil character really well, better than most RPGs do. (that I've played)

The problem about Fallout 3's replayability is that it's cartoonish evil.

I wanted to play as an evil person, but rather than the 'the end justifies the mean', it's 'lol why you should do it? It's evil!'

When I sided with Caesar, it was evil (slavery, sexism, bla bla bla,) there were an actual point to it. Caesar explained very well why the NCR can't do anything good in the Mojave or in any way, why they aren't democratic, which actually convinced me to join him after I planned on a Mr. House play through. You can be a c*** in the game, but there were good reasons to join the evil side.

Now, it's about Fallout 3's evilness.

Blow up Megaton... or don't. Why should I blow up Megaton? Is it a danger, does it do anything wrong? Nope. The master mind of the explosion Tenpenny is like 'Because I don't like it.'. What?

Join the Enclave.... no wait you can't. There is one faction, the Brotherhood of Steel which really should be 'love for technology, don't give a shit about anyone else!' mentallity, but in Fallout 3 they are angels, coming to save us all from the mutants (who are humans!!!!!!!!!!!! green humans and has no say in Fallout 3, though being the second antagonist. (why is there antagonists in this game, it's and RPG. You decide the god damn antagonist)).

The only way you can join the enclave is by exploding the citadel, for no reason, or destroy the water by posioning it. President Eden has no philosphy, nothing to say, but to be evil... for evil's sake.

This game got be introduced to the series, but it ended up being my second least favorite (i have not played Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel yet, and don't plan on it,) so it's pretty much like:

1: Fallout New Vegas
2: Fallout 2
3: Fallout 1
4: Fallout 3
5: Fallout 4

I shall play Fallout Tactics at one point though.

//I know this was a rant, and kinda went off topic, but I really needed to say this. Thanks for your time.

Fuck off. We don't want well-worded arguments here. We don't want some 'Freddo' telling us what their opinions are. We don't want sexist globaphobes that refuse to accept non-binary muslim atheists.

We want blind praise for Fallout 4.

Ehm... SMASHING!!!! HAHA PUNY HUMAN! YOU HIT LIKE A RADROACH!
