Worst Windows command ever

you mean "windows + m"? ;)

Hmm, seems like an inferior alternative to "win + D", right? It's harder to press the 2 buttons with one hand, plus it doesn't do the reverse function (restoring the minimized window(s)).

I'm gonna try to use windows + E and keyboard arrows to navigate through explorer instead of just clicking my way through my computer. I see the IT people at work do it. They know what's up.

yeah, "win + m" is mostly for when you quickly need all evidence to disappear :p (though not as drastic as "Alt + F4".

ah, IT...

try thisone if you meet a person with an intel integrated graphics laptop: "Alt (Gr) + direction keys". :twisted:

If you use Opera, alt+ctrl+L opens a window of all the links on the page you are looking at. Its amazingly useful for using a browser without a mouse. ctrl+tab switches between windows, and ctrl+F4 closes them.

Wow, windows + d is a godsend. All this time I've been right clicking next to the start menu.

Got any other hidden gems?

Hmm this is not a native "command" but if you download VirtuaWin (it's free!) you can use Win+1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or more to switch between desktops (seperate groups of windows's basicly. Like Alt+Tab but between groups/desktops). There's loads of alternatives to this program of course, but I have found that this one is light and nice (Microsofts own version sucks a bit in comparision IMHO)

It does not support that cool thing Mac OS has where you get all the different screens side by side and then choose which one you want. Sadly.

Hah, it looks cool, but is it really that efficient? I've never tried it myself. Might have to switch soon though...

KDE has both :wink:

Linux = win

is it possible to unfold it and see all screens at the same time?

One a sidenote:
I made an improved version of the run thingie (database driven, searched as you typed and just press enter for the alternative you wanted. Kind of like the finder for mac but not) a while ago but I couldn't get the shortcuts for icons to work so it was sadly a fruitless affair.

I created a shortcut on my desktop, supplied the path to the program and tested it. Worked. Went into settings and chose a shortcut command. Tested it, but the program just kept crashing with the shortcut command. Does anyone know why?
