Would you rather be a Vault Dweller or a Wastelander?

i'd rather be a tribal. Like the Arroyo tribe, founded by the Vault Dweller, you know, they had all sorts of technology with them, mostly brought by the Vault Dweller, so they would have been more or less preparred for the ocasional rider attack (if they could find the village first), the downside here would be that the most "advanced" settlements (like, say, Vault City) are outright racist to you, being from a "primitive" village. Again, tribals have many skills simple wastelanders haven't, beacouse they already live in a mini-wasteland of sorts

Even if we assume that life in a Vault is more comfortable than the wasteland, who says that "comfort" should be the measure of a life?

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” (Hunter S. Thompson)

A meaningful life requires risk and freedom. I'll take the wastes - at least it means I'll die under natural light.

Except technology was never shown in Arroyo, I would assume that it broke down long ago and no one was able to repair it. The tribals are pretty much religious wastelanders why lived in the wastes for far too long to remember civilization.

Enclave Clone. :D you're bred inside a tank and lived your life within a simulator. after you reached a certain age the simulator launches the nuclear scenario in which you'll witness the atomic bombs falling and killing everyone, including you. you wake up inside the tank and the enclave introduces you to the post nuclear world :3

Was there ever any evidence to these clones?

Educated Wastelander (e.g., former Vault Dweller or child of knowledge-hoarding survivalists). The unexamined life is not one worth living; a life of exploration, of struggle, of opportunities for growth is much preferable to a life of stagnation in a vault.

I'd better be an Enclave citizen) But if only 2 choices exist, I'd rather be a Vault Dweller - it means I'd live in quite a comfortable conditions, have decent education, be surrounded by normal people, not as Wastelander, whose life is just a constant surviving, this cannot even be called a "life" (of course if you aren't living in a civilized city, but anyway it's not the best variant).

I'd rather be born into the world as a vault dweller and eventually break away from it. I would hopefully have some basic resources to get me started. The transition would be a bit difficult but do-able. I'd prefer to find a small town to hunker down in with other waste landers
