X-Play Face Time with Todd Howard

No mercy.

Why, tell me please, do I have to watch Todd talking alongside with the video from oblivion instead of video from fallout3???

The game is closer and closer to the release and there wouldn't be any video and probably won't be. Am I right?

Of course there will be. I wonder if there will be "this is not scripted" kind of bullshit that won't make it to the game because it's too awesome and would make your head go KABLAM!

I think I remember Briosafreak saying Oblivion's trailer was released something like two or three weeks before E3. So expect a video to be released in something like seven or eight weeks, right ?

I forgot about that. Yeah, seems reasonable.

I'm more interested in gameplay videos, but those aren't confirmed (or denied).

We intend on making gameplay video available for you guys to see the game. That’s all I can say at moment.

Todd Howard: "Your character will always be hurt, or crippled, or low on ammo, or suffering from radiation sickness and have to compensate."

Well, this is good news. Maybe the stats might be nerfed, but they might have found different ways to make the game more difficult and have the survivalist feel that Fallout had. Who knows, but I'm looking at that statement hopefully.

Well actually I meant dates for the videos, but was in a hurry and screwed up. Sorry mon ami Bumble. :tired: :look:

The original trailer for Oblivion was made by a Hollywood company, didn't had much gameplay on it, we'll see what they do this time.

They could create a few cool and enlightening videos like Rockstar did with the GTA4 pre release, but I don't know if that will be the case.

No kidding, that's pretty encouraging. Assuming they pull it off anyway. Might end up with a System Shock 2-esque limited resources feel which would be pretty cool. As much as I love Bioshock, that's one (Possibly the only one for me) area that SS2 did better.

I'm too good at scrounging, I didn't experience that in SS or SS2. :( Or in any other game, pretty much.

Once again that will be the 'perk' of the oblivion engine, people can tweak/mod stuff so that you don't walk outside the vault and find a plasma rifle and lots of ammo on the first bad guy you kill.

I ended up leaning on the wrench and lightsaber too much because I didn't want to burn through my ammo, or damage my styrofoam guns. Kind of ended up a double edged sword for me, but at least it made the game more tense.

Bioshock was still pretty low on ammo if I recall correctly.

'Though that didn't matter much because using the wrench basically killed anything and everything.

same here.

i always end up hording the best stuff, only to defeat the finish the game and find out i still have a shitload of cool stuff i never used because i thought i'd need it in the tough fights.

Speaking of SS2, in the end I had plenty of these hacking cubes that allowed immediate hacking and didn't use them on Shodan because I simply forgot I kept them for tough moments...

Did I underestand it wrong, or did they actually credit Todd Howard for being the executive producer for the previous Fallout games?

"Todd Howard, the executive producer for the Fallout and Elder Scrolls franchises" ?

Agreed, a little possibility of gold in that statement, hope they live up to it.
