You people embarass me...

Hmmm, tempting, tempting...

Unfortunately, I think I need some inspiration first. I'll get back to you.

@ferrariman
Who the hell cares about the game mechanics when what we've already seen constitutes a raping of the franchise?? Yes, we should be thrilled that the general public will see the Fallout world interpreted through idiotic and immature eyes, huh?

Would you expect Star Wars fans not to be pissed if the first trailer of Episode 1 was a highlight reel of Jar Jar Binks interacting with that horrible kid actor? If you watch the FO:POS trailer and are not put off by its blatant lack of taste, how can you even call yourself a fan of Fallout, casual or not???

It seems kinda pointless to argue with someone who can't understand what Fallout means to its fans, and how FOBOS misses that meaning altogether. It seems to me that anyone who hasn't played all the way through both Fallout and Fallout 2 isn't really qualified to make any judgements about what the fans say about FOBOS. To put it simply: you can't speak truthfully about something you know nothing about.

And as far as people like us embarrassing people like you goes, look at it this way: The fans are honest, the Herve Caens of the world are liars. So rather than being embarrassed by us being you're fellow gamers, you should be embarrassed by Herve Caen being you're fellow human. (Even though he's more like a monkey in the IQ department)

Yes, someone being a little more reasonable to me!

I don't mind the fans being honest- in fact, I can't stand anything but honesty- but it would help a lot to be a little more mature. As for Herve Caen, well, I can't say anything about him, because I didn't buy a Interplay title in the last five years. I did mention that the last IPLY title I liked was Loaded, so I shouldn't qualify as an IPLY apologist.

As soon as the BOS reviews come in, and they say that the game stinks, and IPLY ceases to exist, then we can question his wisdom. Although, looking through press releases and news articles gives enough ammunition to question it now... some of the moves he made, especially closing Black Isle Studios several says before Xmas. That ranks up there with Hitler invading Russia.

Revolver, good point. I lost interest in Star Wars after Episode 1. Although, around that time, my X-Men fetish started... 8)

Cluelessly chastizing people is mature? That's a new one.

That is a cute little corporate world cattle mentality you've got going there, kid. You might want to have that fixed so you can think for yourself. It might help you out a fair bit more.

If you've not noticed what Interplay/Tituis has been doing, then you're blind or as clued in as a rock.

Oh, pardon me! I so apologise to you. I had thought you were a generic corporate cattle, but I was wrong. You are the prime example of why the gaming industry is flawed. You can't bother to see for yourself and you need to be spoon fed the information. That kind of willful ignorance sickens me. Cats have better learning development than that.

What? You finally looked around at some information and you are starting to see what is going on?

Fancy that.

Did you by any chance notice that this was a website devoted to a game?

Now, that's just wrong. I don't get spoonfed anything. I like to think for myself. If you want proof, go to GameCritics.com and browse the forums. Yes, that's the same ferrariman that's posting up here.

Now, the ignorance part is wrong. I don't follow any bandwagons. I read at least five reviews for a game, and if at least two say it's bad, I rent first. Perhaps you're just venting anger on me, Certain Pissed Off Fallout Fan?

Ok, unless Rosh says otherwise this thread is through. The flamebait quota has definitely been exceeded here.

So there's the problem. Sorry, but I don't think you're bright enough to think for yourself. The news and much more information has been around for quite a long time, many months. Yet you come on here, post a chastizing remark, and then expect people who have more knowledge of the situation, to treat your clueless nonsense with any shred of respect?

How young are you that you expect people to still be nice to you when you spout ignorant shit?

If you want proof, go to GameCritics.com and browse the forums. Yes, that's the same ferrariman that's posting up here.

Actually, I found something quite interesting at GameCritics.com. When you go to admit you're trolling and those on your "base" forum are telling you that you got burnt for posting chastizing remarks without a clue, which you did, then there's hardly any reason to expect people to be kind to you anymore.

The reason why you are not getting any "help" is likely because people know that I am quite possibly a hell of a lot more clued in than you are.

Now, the ignorance part is wrong.

Really? You might want to read the news more often.

Then you might figure out that your statement of "but hearing Fallout fans rip the game because they thought it killed Fallout 3 makes them look like a bunch of lunatics" makes you look like a complete moron.

I don't follow any bandwagons.

You could be quite right. You certainly posted ignorant shit all on your own.

I read at least five reviews for a game, and if at least two say it's bad, I rent first.

That doesn't prove anything, as often reviews at most major gaming sites are merely a PR kit paraphrased.

Perhaps you're just venting anger on me, Certain Pissed Off Fallout Fan?

No, I think you deserved what you got. In asking the people at GameCritics.com if they would let you do something that stupid, you seriously expect me to allow the same? You're a delusional shit, aren't you, kid? It's also not a good idea to point me somewhere as a point of reference and then on the forum yyou say that you're essentially trolling here. That's just not too bright.

That thread over there should be titled "When clueless people post ignorance and whine about it." I also noticed that you fail to address any points as pertains to the discussion, instead going for pure sniveling at the reception you've gotten.

I'll say this thread could be open for a bit longer, as an example. Then I'll put a sticky link in that points out that to avoid becoming like fuckwitmanf355 or Jonny-Boy at GameBanshee.com, then it would be a good idea to have done some background research into the game of sufficient amount before you post.

To use a saying from a chef I don't care much about, let's kick this up a notch.

ferrarimanf355, you must be inbred or something. You come on here, initiating a flamewar, then go back to your "safe haven" begging for help.

Get a pair of balls before posting shit like this.

It's hard to choose.

They're both such great symbols of a diminished thinking individual.

A bit off topic... Please fill a newb in: What did Valve do to piss off their fans? Last I heard HL2 was really, REALLY anticipated. And, Valve got hit by a script kiddy with an intense desire to overcompensate for something, that's about it. They didn't get hit for any reason, it was just some 12 year old idiot who got lucky

Sorry for the off topic, but POS has been throughly owned, so I think ill take this one.

Valve, for one, decided to force its fans to use buggy and easily exploitable software to play its games online, useing the Steam client. Now, Steam has many bugs in it, plus its now much easier to hack in the game. So, basicly, the online experiance has been ruined for every online Valve game (Halflife, Counterstrike, many fan-made mods) because Valve does not want to pay Seirra for their WON servers any more.

Second, Valve neither denys nor admits that HL2 will be Pay-to-Play online, and with the steam client, that requires emails and names, it would be an easy next step.

Lastly, Valve was stupid enough to keep the source tree of their most popular game on a computer that connects to the internet.

--edit---

Read the gamecritics thread, and laughed uncontrolably when they bashed me. But, i think im going to be the bigger man, and let it roll off me

1. Roshambo and other people here predicted early on that POS would fuck over Fallout 3. The prediction proved correct.

2. POS is a mindless shooter. The thongadins, hordes of ghouls (zombies), village people enforcers, pirates, has thoroughly insulted the Fallout name.

3. It is quite clear a lot of people hate Fallout: POS here and they have plenty of valid reasons.

Ferrariman, after reading the shit you posted, I have no sympathy for you. Not only do you come in here uninformed, but you insult us as well. Your initial post equates to someone calling me a dumbass because they believe Dhamer was a good samaritan while I knew better.

You truly are a fucktwit and it would satisfy me greatly to see you depart.

Yes i did, but i guess i did not notice that some people lifes seems to depend on it.

Life goes on etc. Long as i have Fallout and Fallout 2 by my side, i am happy, be glad that they even exist.

Or you can always go make your own game, if you think it is that easy.

I think you're getting the wrong impression. We get, at the very least, 1 person a month coming in and trolling or posting flamebait about this game - after months and months of it, people start to get a little pissed off. Over and above that, this is what people do on gameboards - they talk about the games they like, they argue with each other, and they flame games they don't like. As far as I know, this is pretty standard across the internet.

Life goes on etc. Long as i have Fallout and Fallout 2 by my side, i am happy, be glad that they even exist.

Well, here's the problem - you're content with FO 1&2, and don't really care that the 3rd game got cancelled. Most people here aren't content with that, and are pissed off about it and the fact BOS was pretty much responsible for it. I have no problem agreeing to disagree - but the fact is we're going to post our opinions on it, so if people getting worked up over a game annoys you that much you're better off just avoiding most of the threads here.

Or you can always go make your own game, if you think it is that easy.

I don't know why you added this - I never said anything about games being easy to make, nor do I think that games are easy to make.

I understand that, BoS is really flammable material, and i also accept and understand points against BoS.

Well, tbh, i was not really happy when BoS was announced instead of FO3, heck, i was storming for a moment. Neither with BIS dieing really enjoyable. I just buried the feeling, there is many other good games, thought i still carry this little sorrow inside me, among the other shit.

I don't know why you added this - I never said anything about games being easy to make, nor do I think that games are easy to make.

Well, i did not adress this to you. What i am trying to say, gaming industry is gambling or safe. So i believe Interplay had other in their minds than piss off hundred thousands fans of Fallout series.

So, if Brotherhood of Steel followed the Bible, would you buy it? If I made an RPG that followed the Bible, but played more like Knights of the Old Republic than the Fallout that you know and love, and focused on character development and a concrete storyline (but has lots of cute cultural references that we all like), and was released only on the Xbox, would you buy it? Is the Bible called such for a reason?

Okay i'm lat but i ant to play too.

Let me explain to you the concept of rape of the Fallout name.

I buy a pontiac Fiero, but i modify it like a Ferrari, same red paint, same logo, Would you buy it?

Afterall it'S the right red, it the right Logo, the right name, what's wrong?
IT a rape of the name Ferrari, this is how we feel about FO:POS.
