Your Favorite Story Line Arc from Fallout

I always liked Reno, the whole gang wars thing, the jet pipeline to Redding, the Salvatones being backed by the Enclave, Bishop trying to force Vault City to join the NCR, that's one town full of surprises. I liked the ending were you had a son with Mrs Bishop and he ended up ruling Reno. Also it was nice getting the car back from the chop shop, especially when impersonating one of Bishop's lieutenants or as a charismatic female screwing T-Ray to death.

I agree, but there should have been a mission were you join one family and then you and your new friends stroll over to one of the rivalry familys casinos and have one good nice shoot out,

Well one interesting fact about the Bishop's cassino is that when you start fighting the guards inside the hookers outside race in start killing the customers and the gils that run the tables, the pimps join in too... weird.

I suppose they just taught it was time to rise from their knees and backs and take the opportunity, seize the killing.

In F1 I liked the Boneyard - thing, that`s a pretty good shoot out, hope there`s a few in F3

Those mass shootouts just get too messy, I've had enough of those with the NCR caravan. I would rather be stealthy and efficient than a sociopath gunfighter.

Of course there is more good game play in what you describe, but i still think there should be at least one good shout around...for the messiness. the messy stuff is what its all about, not being able to calculate so far in advance what will happen

yes?

Heres a scenario;

You enter [insert generic town name here].

You see an elderly man being harassed by a young man with a knife.

You ask the young man with the knife to leave the old man alone.

The young man with the knife attacks you.

You kill him.

It turns out you just killed the mayor's son.

It also turns out that the old man was the leader of a local gang.

The mayor, realizing his only son is dead, kills himself in a fit of grief.

The town falls into ruin as the mayor's corrupted replacement embezzles all the town's funds.

Because that town was a key trading town, other nearby towns are rocked by a failing economy, as no one will buy their goods.

Poverty sweeps through the towns, and anarchy commences.

Once Civilized people turned to barbarians, murdering others in cold blood for food and supplies.

Eventually the towns run out of supplies.

The towns are abandoned, and their once well-to-do citizens wander the wastes to die.

Ok, so it probably wouldn't be THAT severe... But as you can see, the seemingly "good" deed of helping an elderly man resulted in the destruction of a large group of towns. I think it would be interesting for that kind of thing to be implemented more often. But not TOO often.

This is a good point Phil. The only thing I would say about this though is that your character only impacted the story from one place in it. Very likely one would find out that they just killed the mayor's son (a la) Sin City and then you find out who the old man is and then you find out the new leader is currupt and you need to choose how to deal with that. There's probably more there that a player could interface with and effect.

On a new subject, did anyone else get pissed when you realized that you couldn`t find Suliks sister in the game?

Just imagine finding her all drugged up in the stables or something, and the unleashing Sulik on the Mordino family

Yeah, that did tick me off. I was hoping there was a huge Enclave slave trading post that you could raid to save her, or something... Especially considering that Sulik's description of the slavers sounds exactly like Hakunin's description of the Enclave Verti-assault squad.

Anything would have been better than just dropping it.

I like the Siamese Twins story, you know where you have to find them skulls and then you drag them skulls around almost endlessly until you can finally get your arse on a boat and go to Half-Ogre Island, just to find out that you can't finish this fuckin' quest and that you've been dragging them skulls around with you for nothing, jesus christ!

Oh wait, no! That was Arcanum. Bummer.

I like having sex with the whores at the Cat's Paw. I think that's a swell story all by itself.

I liked the Gizmo/Killian conflict.

In one hand, you could serve Don Gizmo, pop Killian, lot his store..... (And or new house) plus +1500 caps if your charismatic...

Or be a good guy and help Killianrid Junk Town of the fat bastard. Good karma, some loot, respect... and that warm feeling in your gut.

You could loot Killians store anyway, without killing him

You just gotta be a little smart and smooth
