On the face of it, that question seems obscene. But hear me out. I've NEVER, EVER liked the Science! in Fallout. The Dead World aeseticfills me with rage because look at Pripiyat. Just look at it. So I want a much green world to rumble in, and in that respect modders have already done this for me. However, so many OTHER features that would fit in so well in Fallout setting are lacking in well Fallout 4.

Here's what Fallout 4 has going for it, mechanically, over Skyrim:
    1. Gunplay
    2. Slightly smarter AI
    3. Grenade throwing
    4. Power Armor
    5. Iron sights
    6. Pre-war assets

Here's what Skyrim has going for it as a base for a Fallout mod:
    1. No dialouge wheel
    2. A perk sysem that can be expanded
    3. Bows and arrows
    4. Shelids and Blocking
    5. Daul wielding
    6. A special ability slot using the Z-key
    7. Build in mounts
    8. An mutiple effect crafting system in it's alchemy.
    9. The Heartfire crafting system (for restoring pre-war towns)
    10. Many of it's buildings could work as post-war, pre-industiral buildings
    11. A plethora of real animals
    12. A lot of harvestable plants that could compliment the meager offerings the tato and razorgrain.

I've been replaying Skyrim to check out Helgen Reborn and lets be frank, even without the Dragon shouts or the werewolf mechanics or the ability to become a vampire or using any magic whatsoever, SKyrim is much, much MUCH more mecahnically interesting than Fallout 4. It's not even close.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Power Armor mechanics, but they aren't neccessary for a Fallout experince. I wouldn't be talking about ditching Fallout 4's assets completely, only make a Tale of Two Wastelands style retrofitting of Fallout 4's BSAs into Skyrim and using it's assets, mostly the maps, to build a new game.

Look, I have no ability to mod, but I'm thinking seriously that if you want to do something like Casadia, Skyrim might be the better game to do it in than Fallout 4. It's got to be easier to build a iron sights mechanic for Skyrim than build the skills and perks back into Fallout 4, and I know this because someone did build iron sights for Fallout 3.

    So what doi you think?

First wait to see if Cascadia developers' dialogue and SPECIAL frameworks will be actually available then asking such questions.

I for one would have liked to dual wield melee and unarmed weapons in fallout 4. And for a game that is often maligned for being "Skyrim with guns" I would have liked a little more Skyrim with guns in my Fallout 4 for what its worth.

I have to say I'm loving very much how every day more and more people are saying how they hate the dialogue wheel and how the dialogue wheel should never be added in video games ever again.

One week ago I read that Guerilla Games added the dialogue wheel in Horizon: Zero Dawn.

If anyone here has video games that have dialogue wheels tell me their names so I can add them to my list of video games to never purchase.

    So far I have.

Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and Mass Effect: Andromeda. Although Mass Effect 1 is a ok video game to play.

Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition

    Fallout 4

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

The dialogue wheel I hate very much because it limits to only four choices or options to choose from and I have a eye health problem I was born with so circular shapes and diamond shapes with words in them make my eyes hurt, especially when small like the dialogue wheel in the Mass Effect video games and in Fallout 4.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution also has a dialogue wheel. But that's a really good game and wholly recommended.

Yeah, but the dialouge wheel is only one of the many, many problems with Fallout 4. Power Armor aside, it a very, very boring game mechanically. You shoot, and loot, shoot and loot. It's as basic bitch as a pumpkin spice latte (full disclosure, I love those).

Even putting back in perks and skills and removing the dialouge wheel won't fix the fact that the game's mechanically boring and it's two dedicated minigames are wretched. Alchemy on the other hand, while not technically a minigame is fun enough (and profitable enough in game) to be a major distraction, especially when listening toi audiobooks and you need something simple to keep your eyes and hands busy.

I'm not bothered about dialogue wheels in general. Sometimes they do the job just fine. Horizon isn't really dialogue driven, it just offers a few different lines here and there with some extra info, so it doesn't suffer from having a dialogue wheel.

But in Fallout you were given plenty of different, clear speech options to choose from and then they're taken away for four options that practically all do the same thing anyway, that's what I really dislike. Fallouts before 4 had a good number of options to choose from and they actually let you know what exactly you're going to say before choosing it. 4 suffers because the wheel limits these choices to four and sometimes what is shown on the wheel is not what is actually said.

To me this topic is kinda of like asking if its "ok" to label Pepsi as Coke and vice versa. Or maybe mixing oil and water?

By it's core Fallout would be in direct conflict with Skyrim, however I am not in any position to say whether or not it is a good idea. When it comes to modding I strongly feel that if someone wishes to modify a game to be more enjoyable I see no reason to stop them.

So I wish whomever luck with this project, and that it turns out to their liking.

There's already a shitton of New Vegas modding projects, with stuff like Frontiers and Project Brazil (now called New California) seeing the light of release date. Not to mention the shitton quest mods, and the recent Cancer Club fiasco would probably return some of the prominent modders back to New Vegas instead.

So, yeah, go for BIS mapper instead, folks. It doesn't have as much love.

There is also the San Francisco project.
We are making TTW to be compatible with The Frontier, New California and San Francisco... Imagine the size of a game with both FO3, FNV all DLCs for both games, The Frontier, New California and San Francisco :smug:. Poor, tiny, Fallout 4 and it's tiny DLCs when compared to it .
