    Ever wonder:

-why the game is set in a different location than fallout 1 and 2?
-why you can't choose character traits when building a character?
-why many characters have the same voice actor? (same in New Vegas)
-why Mister Burke has a house in a town he plans to destroy?
-why can't you find the key Jericho mentions on Moriarity?
-what happened to the skills gambling, outdoorsman, traps, first aid, doctor, and throwing?
-how come you actually need training to wear power armor, unlike in fallout 1 and 2?
-how come Dick Richardson is still mentioned despite the ending of falling 2 saying all traces of him were erased from history and that the title of president is now a boogeyman to frighten children?
-why Moira transforms into a ghoul so quickly despite other ghouls claiming it takes months to do so?
-why the game is a first person shooter instead of a top-down rpg like fallout 1 and 2?
-how come weapons now have durability but no strength requirement?
    -how come children are immortal?
-how come the game has such a negative reputation here despite critics calling it one of the best games ever made?

You want me to answers these !?

    - Thank goodness because that set it apart from the early fallout games. Maybe bethsda wanted to change the location for something new for their games but other than that who knows. Could just pick a location does't matter too much
-Have no idea about these just behtsda choise i guess .....
-This is because of the what is in the engine. It has generic voice for goodbyes and stuff becasue otherwise they would have to record 'Bye' over and over.
-Not sure what you mean by this you have to go into more detial
-Well yeah they decied to get ride of those skills many where brought back in NV though. Plus theres no gambling in the game anyway
-I think because its easier to 'accidentally' find power armour in fallout 3. There is people walking round in it ad you might have acess to it to early. Therefore the training stops the player becoming OP quickly. Also it does actually make sense to me atleast. But then again it not required in fo4. SO yeah they broke there own lore. THey didn't care so much for the balance in fo4 anyway
-Again not too sure. I have't completeled fo2 so yeah I dunno. But i think fallout 3 does go back on some fo fo1 and fo2 lore
-Again this just seems for convince. Bethsda just thought it be cool so put it in the game
-I think this does't really a complicated awnsers. Bethsda didn't want to make it that. I mean it was much easier to make a frist person shoot in 2008 than the 90's
-Again maybe over sight not too sure. Pretty sure it was included in NV
-Well because you can't really be allowed to kill children in a video game otherwise you wont get a rating and can't release the game
-Well I can't speak for everyone here so I could't say. I mean I personally like the game and has nostigla for me. But I defintly think that NV was an improvement while fallout 4 was a ahsit show. You'd have to ask others for their view. I think the generally view though is lack of choise and RGP elements.

    1. Fallout games don't have to have identical settings. A different part of the world can be explored.
    2. Streamlining. Bethesda dumbing down the game.
    3. One of the downsides to having every character voiced is you need to cut corners with budget.
    4. Bethesda didn't think it through
    5. Lazyness or Time Constraints, depending on how optimistic you are.
    6. To be fair, most of those skills were worthless, except for Medic and First Aid which should have been one skill.
    7. Bethesda wanted lootable armour but didn't want you to get end-game stuff early on. They wanted to have there cake and eat it.
    8. Fallout 2 assumed the Enclave didn't survive the Oil Rig.
    9. Bethesda didn't think it through
    10. $$$ MONNNEEEEEY $$$
    11. A cross between Streamlining and leftover mechanics from Oblivion.
    12. A cross between Bethesda being pussies, and Bethesda being too lazy to make a separate European version of the game.
    13. Lots of people liked it, lots of people didn't. Critic Reviews are just people voicing opinions. They shouldn't be considered more reliable than any other fans opinion.

-why is the Gatling Laser classified as a Big Gun rather than an energy weapon as it was in previous games?
-why would James flood the purification chamber with radiation despite the fact that someone would have to brave that radiation to activate Project Purity?
-why is the ending of the Lone Wander dying from radiation after activating project purity retconned in Broken Steel?
-During Trouble On the Homefront, why does Alphonse refer to you as "young man" even if you are female?
-If you destroy the citadel, why does the initiate refer to you as male even if you are female?
-Why is there practically no character depth?
-Why do you lose karma from killing certain characters even if it was in self-defense?
-How the hell is Harold's heart located in a cave rather than inside his body?

At this point you should just ask why?

Same voice period. New Vegas VAs did a far better job coming up with different voices for different characters. By contrast in 3 they seem to have voice sets. Ever old man has the same voice. Same for ghouls super mutants.

Basically the answer to all these questions is and always will be: bethesda is lazy and incompetent and only care about draining fallout of all its worth. They don't care about lore, logic, storytelling, or even quality.

Except when it outright contradicts the canon. For example, you can't set a Fallout in New York, because the city is obliterated completely.

Why does the current Fallout 3 exist instead of a good one? That is the biggest mystery.

Ask Fargo, he was in charge when Interplay was sinking so fast he had to sell the company to europeans who did business even worse so Interplay couldn't even afford to finish F3 (VB). Or ask this charming man.

I mean, I literally never denied that. I'm just questioning why the OP thought it being set in a different setting was important.

Also, is it canon that New York is obliterated?, I know they had the hot summer where nuclear power plants melted down, but I don't think it's ever explicitly mentioned that it's just smoldering nothingness.

I couldn't find anything that says NY is completely gone. Closest is that the wiki says NY is apparently listed as "gone" along with D.C. and Boston on Arnold Wasah's terminal. Considering how D.C. and Boston is depicted, a "gone" listing doesn't mean much.

Nonetheless I wouldn't want a New York Fallout game. NY is too overused in media, it's like the default setting. Also due to it's size, the wasteland outside the city would be minor due to limitations. All Fallout games have had major wasteland outside the prewar city of choice, New York would dominate 90% of the map if it were chosen unless we sacrifice everything except Brooklyn and Manhattan.

TBH if it was like Denver, It wouldnt be too bad, problem is Bethesda are awful at world building despite what people say.
