if so,bethesda's writing is even worse than I thought.
 
Depends on how many nukes you have - large population centers and military bases would go first. The article does right in saying the biggest impact is not the destruction itself, though, but the global impact in the politics and economy. Tearing down the power structure would do far more damage in the long run than the bombs themselves, as you'd effectively throw the world in chaos.
 
That article doesn't touch the the issue of any of those nukes hitting Americas breadbasket subsequently eliminating most of the countries food supply, which imo would do a lot more damage over time.

yep,i missed washington in the second list
let's assume that the bombs of USA,France,Turkey,Uk, Israel,India and other NATO nations would fall on China,Russia,Pakistan,North Korea (and probably others) and viceversa.
 
According to the MAD scenario, all large cities belonging to every involved nation would be wiped out and the major population centers such as New York and Moscow would be the priority targets and would receive mass strikes by as much as hundreds of nuclear warheads each. Since all sides strategically concentrate their anti ballistic defense missiles around nuclear launch silos to guarantee the survival of retaliatory forces in case of a first strike, such sites would likely remain unscathed at the expense of everything else.

In the 7 days to the Rhine plans, USSR specifically target Roskilde, Denmark. Hopefully during summer festivals
Roskilde is a purely cultural target, and that's part of the charm with nuclear devices. You car-bomb a cultural target, and you're just a dickhead terrorist, but nuke a cultural target, and you're playing it by the book.

Hey, that's how M.A.D. works. You don't only take out the military targets, you make sure the enemy knows EVERYTHING is fucked if they try anything funny.

Say what you will, but M.A.D. had worked well for us so far.
