Favourite quest in Fallout.

First time out of the vault
This thread is a place to post what you consider to be your favourite quest in Fallout. Obviously Fallout 1,Fallout 2,Tactics,Bos,3,New Vegas and four. It can be a main or side quest.

Use what ever format you like.

Quest: You'll know it when it happens
Reasoning:
I really enjoyed this quest for an array of reasons. First and foremost it's really great getting to see a true leader and maybe corny politician speech in Fallout. Usually we are used to powerful leaders who rule by force, but Kimball really seems to have genuine non fearful respects from his troops, and walks with authority.

The idea of this quest is to protect President Kimball from three attackers, One with a knife, one with an explosive detonater and a sniper. The great thing about this quest is , on your first go at it failure is not unlikely.
Kimball may actually die and has a good chance of doing so if you don't have your hand on the ball.

Aaaand another thread started in the wrong subforum.
Seriously. Read. The. Fucking. Descriptions.
And double check what subforum you are in.
I'm tired of moving threads around every day.

Of course, "Vault 81", from Fo4. It has not even a real mission name... The epic cat rescuing mission really got me. Also, OP-ass rifle just for 2000$! Buy it now for shoot moar things!

For real now, the "Beyond the Beef" quest from New Vegas is a fine example of the game's "philosophy", really fun, a lot of roleplaying moments and choices with consequence. I would have considered "offering" Presto Garvey. That also is just one of the collection of quests from The Strip, where you can find "Talent Pool", the conclusion of "They went that- a way"(is it called like that) and moar.
My other favorite is "For Long Auld Syne", it justifies Arcade Gannon's existence and gives a continuation/end to the western (and true) Enclave. Also, it makes you meet the most badass crew of old people since the Expendables :P. The companion quests were cool, too, most of them.

That's such a hard question...

Honestly I think my favorite quest in the whole series is actually an unmarked one from West Vegas. Essentially you learn from an NCR soldier in Aerotech Park that people have been getting kidnapped, and, long story short, it leads into a very long quest full of very dark themes. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't done it but it's absolutely amazing. Go talk to the NCR soldier at Aerotech and ask him about missing people to start the quest.

Tough one, but...if I had to choose one for right now...

One that has the biggest impact...

The Brotherhood Initiation Quest in Fallout 1 that brings you to The Glow. Radiation levels which will kill you in minutes if you drop in without being fully prepared, and yet it was a place that was full of stuff from the old world. Plus, after making it through, hearing the surprise coming from the Brotherhood members? That was worth it.

...Actually, something just occurred to me. I think I now understand where the idea of The Glowing Sea in Fallout 4 came from.

I Put a Spell on You from New Vegas is pretty great, especially considering it's two completion paths are vastly different and, it's extremely easy to fail, which is nice, it's to easy to succeed in some games.
The quest where you act as the sheriff of Redding was one of the highlights of Fallout 2 for me.
The main quest line of Fallout 1 was perfect, it got you to travel all around the wastes, complete numerous side quests and battle the greatest villain in the Fallout franchise.
Really all quests with multiple pathlines are great.

The answers above are great answers and I agree with all of them... Fallout 2 isn't my favorite Fallout game but I think all of my favorite quests are in it. Powering up the highwayman is unforgettable, the Modoc quests were fun and memorable, the Vault City conflict was really screwed up and awesome, the satisfaction that came from curing Jet and shaming little Myron, Infiltrating Navarro, and the final quest on the oil rig with the president and the final speech check... All of these were incredibly well done.

If I had to choose one, I think it would be that final run on the oil rig and the ending that came with it, definitely the best moment in the whole series. It closes up all of the loose ends, the vault 13 survivors and the tribe are united and get to build a new city with the GECK, the Chosen One has a kid that takes over New Reno, Jet gets cured, NCR grows and everyone gets to live happy.

Shit, this is... tough... let me think...

The King Questline is pretty good... I loved the nod to good ol' Lou in G.I Joes, where a survivor of NCR brutality hears some people referring to 'Lou Tenant'...

I really enjoyed the Navarro quests in Fallout 2. Not sure why. Just weird details like figuring out that the room is soundproofed and learning about the scientist's relationship with one of the guards. Neat details for a place that you could just lead a direct assault on.

With the original Fallout...it's not really a quest but it scared the shit out of me running into the Super Mutants for the first time. Met them in Necropolis when I finally figured out where the water chip was. I had prepared myself for ghouls, not Harry goddammit!

Fallout New Vegas...hmm...maybe Crazy, Crazy, Crazy. I love all the stuff involving the Super Mutants on Black Mountain, "YOU INTERRUPTED MY BROADCAST DUMB-DUMB!"

Plenty of other good quests though. I'm trying not to pick ones that are basically just fetch-quests but so many of them have such great personality. Like Wang Dang Atomic Tango. It's just a simple thing of you walking around and talking to people, but there is just something so satisfying about finding a real sex-bot.

Not that I'm into that kind of thing or anything.

"FISTO reporting for duty."

I liked the one in fallout 2 where you have to find the golden watch. Hilarity ensues. Like the one in new vegas where the courier interrogates a legion centurion and the come fly with me quest.

Hmmm, I would say the quest for Arcade Gannon, it was basically a tribute to Fallout 2 and it was enjoyable to see a previous Faction have some good in them.
Also, I lovd how it effected the ending.

I don't know, it's one of those quests I like replaying on every character in NV.

For Auld Lang Syne (For Old Times Sake) is such a simple but nice quest. I personally love the armor you get as I find the old Enclave Power Armor so much nicer looking that the Eastern Enclave's armor. Plus I like the Remnants and I can never bring myself to killing any of them. I always ally them against the Legion. Every time I see that Vertibird drop down on the Dam is so nice yet so basic.

Aaaaah so that meant that weird title nobody knows how to pronounce right. In german right?
A small downsight on the APA you get; it's Daisy's, who won't need it. So it must smell inside like your room if it stayed closed while grandparents stay there: an odd flavour made from medicine and hairspray :P.
And in Fallout 2, the back thingy is a vent or just a radiation symbol?
