XBone One Fallout 4 Mod Traffic Was Bigger then That Of PC

They "conveniently" forgot to note the fact that most PC users would rather get their mods from the Nexus than deal with the censored crap Bethesda's hosting on their buggy, ugly, utterly wretched Bethesda.net site.
ETA - they also "conveniently" forgot to mention that that traffic pretty much broke Bethesda.net. They got boned so hard by Jive that I almost feel sorry for them. Ah, fuck that, who am I kidding anyway? :liar:

It also appears, from doing a bit of reading, that a lot of the Xbox mods over there are coming from people who are openly stealing files from PC mod makers and posting them as their own work.

But yeah, the tone of that tweet is very telling. You know Todd and the rest of the gang are just salivating over those traffic numbers, dreaming about ways they can cash in.

Yeah, if the people that don't have a choice of a modding site outnumber those that can get mods elsewhere 50 to 1, it just means the site is shit. So Beth just made a site that is much, much worse than the Nexus. Truly, a success worthy of the people behind FO4.

I wonder what the 'just the beginning' refers to. Perhaps it will randomly corrupt files. Or impose a lower size limit. Or the site will just stop working. Sky's the limit when you market fuckups as success.

Just my guess, but "just the beginning" ends with lots and lots and lots of dollar signs dancing in their heads. I don't think (???) they're dumb enough to try the paid mods thing they floated about a year ago, but I could easily see them turning Bethesda.net into a subscription-only enterprise ("You're not paying for the mods themselves, you're just paying for the privilege of downloading them!").

Pretty sure those numbers are due to the fact that PC users go to Nexus instead of Bethesda.net. This just looks like an attempt at marketing. Still, good for consoles. It's nice they can have some mods. How long before paid mods though?

All Bethesda games are tailored to consoles anyway. Why else would the user interface be that way in every Elder Scrolls and Fallout and why else would the FOV be nauseatingly low with guns that occupy 50% of the screen?

Elder Scrolls and Fallout are sadly finished series for me anyway. Not interested in either one as they're just going to keep being dumbed down to the point that even the most casual gamers start disliking them for being too stupid and dumbed down.

I'm excited for Elder Scrolls 6 only so I can see how ridiculously stupid it is. "Like Skyrim with guns" will become "Like Borderlands with bow and arrow" with procedurally generated dungeon crawls from a Redguard or Breton named Prestonus Gravius.

Why would I get mods from Bethesda's service when on Nexus I can get this:

Pregnancy
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7021/?

Vault meat paintings
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1714/?

Idiot slut
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3844/?

Perverted perks
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6361/?

Nude ghouls
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3352/?

And I mean, this is just early stage. Eventually I'll be able to be Dogmeat's breeding whore!

Seriously though, PC users have the Nexus, we've always had the Nexus. So why exactly is this newsworthy at all? Of fucking course the console users are going to download more mods from Bethesda's service than PC users are. It's like being shocked that if you give a guinea pig a bit of cucumber then it'll start eating it as if its life depended on it. Like, no waaaay. Who'd a thunk it?

Ugh, for real?

Now with that, coupled with the fact that, iirc, apparently you can rate a mod without having the said mod, it's just a matter of time before:
1. Modders begin to be like, 'Fuck it.' and stopped modding Fallout 4 altogether.
2. Since you can only make mods in PC (I mean, do Sony and Microsoft have what it takes to allow the making of mods using consoles?), people will lose mods to steal.
3. More mods become unable for consoles.
4. Boston Salt Party 3.0

Seriously, with all the problems at hand, Bethesda can't think of anything but, "XBone's Fallout 4 mod traffic was bigger than that of PC's", and then started to drool in the prospect of making more money off of mods on consoles? Give me a break! It's high time modders start to voice their concern much louder.

inb4 Polynoid barged in and started to "At least it's not like when Rockstar yadda yadda"

Those guys have got no shame do they?

Of course there is going to be a huge traffic on their stupid site, because this the only place console kiddies can get their OP mass effect weapons and other shit.

Nobody with their mind right would accept those conditions to use their site. Not unless all the hard work they do, can be claimed by someone else. Add the necessary spyware with bethesda.net and you are pretty much boned.

Whatever, I am done with bethesda and their parent company zenimax, they will not get my money anytime soon.

Ps: Nexus is and always will be better.

Sometimes the best solution is to do nothing. Bethesda had a good thing going and now are trying to meddle with it. Now if people are stealing mods and posting them on console, modders will quit.

Then Bethesda loses the modding community and you're left with their vanilla story "RPG" experience, which could have been written by monkeys banging on typewriters.

New Vegas have some really cool quest and adventure category mods, so does Fallout 3 at some point. Fallout 4? Only one that can be considered bearable. What happend to the community? /s
Eventually I'll be able to be Dogmeat's breeding whore!
But still won't be able to fix neck/hands/feet seam. Seriously, this is like what, 3rd time already?

When PC was 'launched' on Beth.not, the only mods that were available were the ones that Bethesda allowed in their closed beta and contacted with a DRM, There was also no ability to upload unless you were in the closed beta.
Nexus stats for PC launch
Of course Roy Batty had to reply to that :lmao: I love that guy (he is also in the TTW team).

What happened is that Fallout 4 screws modders in most ways possible if the modder wants to make a nice quest mod.
Also Skyrim happened, the modding community started going downhill with Skyrim and unfortunately most of the modders for Fallout 4 are the same ones from Skyrim.
And last but not least, quest mods take quite a while to make, and are not so easy to make as just a weapon using models from a 3D site or ripped from another game, or a few edits or re-textures  which means that the modder really needs to enjoy what he is doing and be dedicated to his mod, most people who modded for older games do not like Fallout 4 that much so they just don't spend time making quest mods.

And it looks like ass, sorry for being rude but...
Pregnancy preset only works for LARPing since nothing pregnancy-related is scripted yet -> Pointless.
Ghoul textures doesn't look like ghouls anymore and it doesn't matter that the problem caused by Bethesda. NewVegas nude ghouls FTW.
Shad's paintings doesn't look right in this game and cut askant.
Perverted perks has LQ sounds and "animated" pictures.
Fallout 4 is just fucking adult-modding in the rudest way possible with fucking modding in general and all that shitty animated vault boy pics as obligatorily shit. And Shad's VMeat is terrible Natalia portrait fuck upfollow up, bring New Vegas vault girl back!

I don't belive you'll be a doge's breeding bitch.

Just a thought here:

Bethesda's site's main audience is mainly made up of console kids.

Many First Person Newbies still don't get the retrofuturistic aspect of the game.

Bethesda keeps shoehorning in and reinventing the Brotherhood of Steel and Supermutants

My guess is that Bethesda is going to make a game focused on immature console players, focused around hunting down Supermutants as the Brotherhood, and going to dump the retrofuturism in return for a great slipknot soundtrack. To top it all off, why not set it in texas.

Basically, give them FOPOS. (yeah, yeah, I know you meant that in a rhetorical way)

In many ways Fallout 4 is a sequel to FOPOS, same limited choices, same railroading.
