Alright, so there's quite obviously a demand for bringing more life into NMA, especially the News section.
The first thing would be that all of you send anything that you find newsworthy to the staff so we can post it on as news. Preferably as full newsposts so it's quicker and easier for us ;)

However, we should do more. So how about we do some brainstorming as for what we could do?
A weekly or monthly NMA-approved Fallout mod rundown, for example?
More community-driven reviews and more reviews in general?
More focus on the podcast, with more guests and interviews? More email interviews?
Bring it on!

/edit:
I'll collect some of the ideas here:
- Community driven events: Multiplayer sessions, reviews, maybe PnP sessions.
- More podcasts, make it a regular thing: Wider variety of topics, more changing castmembers, more interviews
- Long form (video) retrospective for the 20th anniversary of Fallout next year, covering every single game (funny NMA Let's Play for all the games, maybe?)

I'm up for any podcasts/interviews we can get.
Also, I'll say more community driven events, like more reviews and even playing together on steam or so.

That's a nice idea. I guess this community is generally more focused on singleplayer games, but maybe we could do some community multiplayer events.

/edit:
And I guess if I could get off me arse for once I could finally get the PnP going...

Anything post-apocalyptic fiction related, for example. Other Fallout-inspired video games, general developments in video games, that kinda stuff. Just send us what you think fits to NMA and then we'll see.

Okay sweet. I know that the English version for Metro 2035 just came out so I was just wondering if that was alright.

I would definitely be up for that sometime. But it would be hard finding something we all have and enjoy.

Didn't realize we had a podcast, gotta advertise it more, it can even help keep activity up on the main page by making it a weekly thing. Maybe set up a youtube channel, have a good variety in guests so we show that NMA isn't this hive of crusty old men who only play ping pong all day while also not whitewash the community for mass appeal. Maybe make like a series of Format documents, I could help with graphics for the Podcast, don't expect me to talk on it, I am very self concious about my accent.

I was thinking, seeing as it's the 20th anniversary of Fallout next year, we could do a documentary style going for each of the games next year

We did want to make the podcast shorter and more frequent, dunno if a weekly thing wouldn't be too much, though. We need stuff to talk about :D
I think NMA has a Youtube channel, but nobody knows who is actually responsible for it, because it's old and dead. We'll just make a new one, the previous podcasts were uploaded on CaptainBJ09's channel. More Youtube content in general would be good, too, so any experience with video editing and making fancy graphics would be awesome.

That would be great. A long form retrospective, although Noah Caldwell-Gervais already did that. Well, he has an account on NMA too, as far as I know, so...

For the 20th anniversary we could do a podcast on how we discovered Fallout and our favorite characters, quests, weapons, memories, whatever. Just a thought.

Yeah, a big podcast on the 20th anniversary is definitely a must. Gotta check the release date.
How about a series of Let's Plays for all the games? Didn't someone want to do a Let's Play on Fallout: PoS recently?

There would just need to be a defined format of weekly topics to keep it fresh, look at the Cooptional Podcast, have a section for recent news regarding videogames, movies and when it happens Fallout itself (be them Mods, new game and all that), have another section where you would just talk about things like movies or games the guests have watched/played recently, leave small "homework" to guests like reading a book, watching a movie or something like that. Could even have a book club section.

A lets play would be cool, that should bring in more traffic to NMA.

What do we do the podcasts on? Skype?

Also the 20th anniversary isn't until September 30th of next year. So we have more than enough time to plan and stuff.

The first few podcasts were done on Google Hangout, but some folks had severe technical issues. For the recent ones we switched to Teamspeak, works a lot quicker. But it also involves more editing as the recording time is limited and it doesn't have the handy "put the person who's talking up front" feature.
Also, Kadscaner, please edit your posts instead of multiposting to keep the thread a bit more tidy.

Skype would probably work better. If it's done on a video format there could jsut be nice layout with images representing each guest with their name on top, just have the guests introduce themselves by name at the beginning so people get familiar with the voices and the layout will do the rest to keep it easy to follow.

Shit sorry... I've never had any past experience with Teamspeak at all so I'll try to familiarize myself with it a bit before the cast.

Yeah! Youtube is where all the kidz go these days! Why has NMA not a youtube chanel yet?!

Yeah, that's pretty much how it has been done before.
Skype would work, although it's a bit heavier on the Internet connection, I think. Gotta do some more test runs, I guess.

But the last content was uploaded six years ago... And I think nobody knows who has the keys.

It's really easy.
Here's a general thread about the old podcasts:
