I love staring long and deep into a well crafted painting. I'm hoping for an oportunity to see some good stuff, so post some works of your favorite artists!
I forget many names, but John William Waterhouse is one I do remember:
He has an odd habit of painting the same woman over and over again though
I always like sharp visual realism
I also really enjoy self-defined "kitch painter" Odd Nerdrum, a bit of an over-productive painter, he does a lot of simple "studies", but his semi post apocallyptic work is right down my alley:
