I'm (Slightly) considering getting Fallout 4 GOTY Edition

Uber Morpth

First time out of the vault
Now course I did play Fallout 4's base game when it came out since at the time my brother just got his Xbox One and the first game he got was Fallout 4 (This was back when me and him where still Bethestard fans not anymore) I remembered just having lots fun with exploring, collecting and shooting shit but that was back when I wasn't very smart bout things.

Now with me knowing how not good it is even in that category despite it being the only good thing going for that game, and on top of it having the weakest role-playing/story's in any of the Fallout games. I just wonder if 60$ is worth it if I just ignore the main quest and just play on my own like what I do for Skyrim and (try) to have fun with the rest of the game and Is dlcs but I wanted to see your guys thoughts on this.

For 60 bucks, just no. The base game with all the dlc is not worth that, not even a third of that.

idk about nuka-world but with far harbor you cant really ignore the story. if you like settlement building (*lol) i guess its okay but you could probably just download similar mods. unless your good in terms of cash i wouldnt waste ur money

Fallout 4 is good once you completely ignore main story, and I mean not even visit Sanctuary at first. Just exit the vault and head in any direction except that minute man guy(whatever the name was).
Survival mode with rebalance weapons mods, first person shooter gizmo mods and perk overhaul mods is incredibly fun, although you have to play rather carefully. But then again, the wasteland is supposed to be a dangerous place.

I believe you actually need the expansions to be able to install some of the better mods out there... the expansions are not too bad in terms of content, again, not speaking about story here, but you may want to actually fish for a sale.

Wait for sale, that or well, internet is your friend. Still, only 2 dlcs are decent - fart harbour, automatron. The rest, not worth it.

Like the others here are saying, get the game when it is on sale and don't give Bethesda more money that they deserve.

I for one am honestly not going to call you a traitor to the Fallout fandom for wanting to get Fallout 4 GOTY because you would like to play it again and experience the parts you did like.
I got Fallout 3 GOTY for the same reasons and tried to fix the parts I did not like with mods to make settlements for example make more sense. Unfortunate the game would not run with all the mods I had put on it, probably some memory problem.

Years ago I even got a copy of FOBOS and played that a couple of times again even though I resent or hate this title as it got the development of Van Buren cancelled because Interplay had to choose to have this or Van Buren finished.
Well they bet on the wrong horse and the result was that Interplay eventually had to sell Fallout to Bethesda, and Fallout 3 feels much more a successor to FOBOS than to the first couple of games.

Nah is alright, funny thing is with this "Xbox Live Pass" thing going on for my account Fallout 4 GOTY is now only 48$ so I figured heh why not and bought it, to be honest though I only ever play Fallout 4 for just exploration and combat (Which are the only best parts about it even then it gets boring after so long) but I wouldn't blame anyone for loving Fallout 4 only for those reasons but Fallout 3? Never touching that dumpster fire of a game again.

I will at least get to see firsthand the truly awful story and the equally bad side quests (Cabot House and Kid In a Fridge come to mind but maybe there's more especially in dlc).
