With all the layoffs I don't think anyone currently their even knows how to operate the RED Engine.

I think the stuff that I liked most is how you can make pikes/spearwall to have actual physic to stop cavalry charge.

Cavalry are really big deal in this game. If your entire party are consisted out of all-cavalry units, then you will be much faster than most everyone. Even if you have infantry, as long you have spare horses in your inventory (or beast of burden, like mules, camels, etc) you gain bonus speed.

The subtlety is just staggering. Next they're gonna warn everyone, Ukraine plans to conduct a "special military operation" to "denazify" Moscow - the scoundrels!

Fighters get beat up sometimes.

Imperator got best system. You can import to fulfill domestic needs or surpluses, or you can sell your stuff for more money and vice versa. It's not zero-sum gameplay.

They never get diplomacy or trade right in games.

For diplomacy there is mod for that, but for trade then I'm afraid it's just too hard coded and generally being flawed design from the start. It's one of main point for EU5 development. Instead yet another annual DLC.
