How's Your Day?

Hoplite

Worth 1/5th of 100 grams of tea
Sorry for the 4 day break, I know nobody missed me.

I don't know if there's already a thread for this, so here we go. Just talk about how life's treating you.

I'll start with some good news, finally I have a boyfriend and I'm on track to graduation and enlistment.

You've given me rads so you're ok in my books. Enlistment? What are you enlisting in?

I guess I had an ok day. Been super slippery winter over here with constant rain and freeze/thaw. Didn't fall so that's a plus.

IT'S BEEN A HOT WINTER.

YOU GO IN THE SUN? IT'S HOT. YOU GO IN THE SHADE? IT'S COLD.

HOT WINTER. HOT WINTER.

BEFORE IT WAS JUST BITTERLY COLD OR VERY WARM. BUT NOW IS THE AGE OF HOT WINTER. SANTA CLAUS AND HIS WIFE BE ON THAT TREADMILL TRYNA GET THAT HOT WINTER BODY.

US army for two tours. Gonna use that money to buy a car, two Xboxes, two copies of No Man's Sky, and my boyfriend and I are gonna introduce the Tyranid threat to NMS

I wish I got some rain and freeze. I'm with Squadcar on that hot ass winter, but that might be a Florida thing in my case

We got snow too. Yesterday even the sun was shining.

Snow is gorgeous. I hope to see it someday.

So fluffy.. I just kinda wanna roll around in it

2018 and before I never got a warm winter, but damn if 2019 didn't want to heat up. I don't think anyone's had normal temperatures this winter

I think it snowed enough to stick to the ground without melting once this year.

I just want some comfy days to sit inside with a blanket, coffee, beer, and soup.

Well if you want that 'cabin in the woods' -type thing then make sure you have electricity, cell phone coverage, running water, warm water, enough heat, etc. etc. It stops being cozy when the house freezes up.

Can be nice though, with a doge etc.

Uneventful. Waiting on others mostly. Waiting for some modders to fix some bug, waiting on some developers to fix another bug, waiting on the bureaucrats to finish LSP for my wife and so forth.
Come to think of it, there are technically many games where I'm waiting for the bugs to be fixed. Some examples: Remember that Empire:Total War bug, where once you destroy walls you can't repair them? Guess what, it's still there. Remember that nasty Civ5 worker automation bug? Guess what, it's still there. It always amazes me how AAA (Ass, Ass, Ass?) developers take decades to fix simple bugs and never manage it.

Oh, and started to read Borne. Supposedly another postapocalyptic book series, hope it's good, with no woker propaganda.

I'm no developer of anything whether its a small company, big company, independent/solo, or even as a hobby.

But I'd imagine a lot of it does get bogged down by bureaucracy. Even if it's not AAA sized but released through consoles I'd imagine issues come up with jumping through hoops. I know not only do consoles charge for a patch to be deployed but they also have some sort of quality assurance or verification of their own sorts from what I've heard/read. Fragpunk was supposed to release on PC and consoles like most games but it'll be a few months out before they can release to any console because they failed something. There's also the industry practice of laying off people after successful launches so I imagine that when you layoff the people who wrote the code that caused the bug, now you have to make someone spend time looking for it and it might have to be a new hire or taking away from another project's progress. If a bug is deemed too inconsequential to affect reputation, sales, and/or security I'd imagine it's simply not something a company would bother with when they have to keep on churning out other shit.

IDK the point is lots of factors I'm sure!!!!!!!!1!!!1!!!!!!!1!!!! But it do be ass.

It was awful, the kid woke up at 01:00 and refused to sleep, so we started the day at 03:00. Left her at daycare at 07:00 and I went right back to sleep. Wasn't nice.

Another day dealing with the bureaucracy. Sometimes I'm thinking maybe I should just go to a Western country, manage to land myself in the prison there and that's it, I have a simpler life. I mean look how nicely Breivik is doing, ehh.

At least the Borne book seems good so far. Proper post-apocalyptic setting, all that. Has some sex, but the traditional one between two opposite gender wastelanders, no woker nonsense so far.

Managed to also find a workaround for a game freeze issue is Warpforge, so I once more returned to WH40K grind that it is.

Weather's hot/warm outside. But since I still have no clue in which continent/country I will end up in future bit further away (next month or so), I suppose who cares.

This is kinda adorable, and completely in line with the tragic comedy of errors that has been my life so far this 2025.
I was looking for the cc in back seat of the car, had to use the front seat controls to move that seat forward. Try to get it to move back and it won't go back. Humm. Troubleshoot by trying to move it forward a bit and the controls worked! Yay! So I put the controls in reverse, and nothing happens. WHAT??! So of course my dumb ass repeats this a few more times with no different results, and so now, If I want to drive anywhere, I have to fold myself like a lawn chair to drive. I feel like my body is being folded into that sewer pipe by Pennywise.

This may be the next step:

Warpforge last update turned out to have introduced another bug that disables some achievements. Will have to shelve that game. Again. How nice would it be if it would be possible to actually report bugs for it. But no, I will not search home addresses for the devs and visit them in person, efff it, too many games, too short lives, yada yada.

Borne done, checked out the other books in same setting by same author, but didn't sound worthwhile (afaik, they are same setting, but also exact same general location and same time, just different character/POV... naah...).
Will try First Law series. Grimdark fantasy sth sth. Good reviews, but meh annotation. Too lazy too search more, so there we go, hopefully no woke-woke inside...

Found HoMM characters for Mugen recently. Cool. Will surprise my wife, haha.

Still haven't heard why people are so obsessed with the new Oblivion remake. When I ask what new features, graphics aside, does it have, nobody answers. Such a mystery.
