PLEASE say this is some fake bullshit.
I'm fascinated with supporting roles that are required to outshine all others, in order to create a point of connection or anchor or some other effect, many have already pointed to Mike Yanagita in Fargo, but others that come to mind are trauma-man with knife-dildo from Se7en (same guy also delivers traumatic performance in Saving Private Ryan, but with less impact intended); Marvin the cop in Reservoir dogs is another example, but my favorite is probably Bonasera from the opening of The Godfather, where his face and job is imprinted on you, so that when he returns to the plot later, you understand that the undertaker is about to return his favor.
