Just got back from the Shin Godzilla 4k re-release in theatres. Dug it. It's 2 hours, but it flew by for me. There was a lot of political talk about how to deal with Godzilla, rather than reacting to Godzilla, so some may find that a bit dull. Godzilla himself was fucking cool, and a bit scary. The various forms he takes and is about to take at the end of the film are imaginative and different from other Godzilla forms. I was waiting to see this before Godzilla: Minus One and then prepare for the Minus One sequel, SE Asia Godzilla, and the rumored Shin Godzilla sequel.
I have been watching King of the Hill, Batman The Brave and the Bold, and Big Guy and Rusty the boy robot.
The last two are some good all ages entertainment while King of the Hill provides some grown up entertainment.
Once I am done with one of these series I will continue with either Star Trek Deep Space Nine or For all mankind.
I've been watching The Walking Dead again. I liked it up until Andrew Lincoln departed then I stopped watching.
I just watched the last episode of season 3 and I forgot just how utterly dumb Andrea was. She could have gotten away if she didn't sit there like an idiot talking to Milton and staring at him to check if he was turning. Dumbass.
I watched a few seasons of The Walking Dead. Basically because it had Egg in it, one of the characters of my favourite series of all time, 'This Life'. But it's like with Lost and Boardwalk Empire and Green Arrow ... : I don't remember a thing about these series. I was just stoned and watching moving pictures. Zombies? Check. Plane crash? Check. Mob cruelties? Check. Anything else? Fuck no.
Waste of time.
I'll tell you what's not a waste of time, though: Helly Rite. What a nasty kitten that is. I mean, what the actual fuck? How much money are these bitches getting for completely wrecking their assholes like that? You young people r fucked up.
Fucked up.
You fucked up.
You gen whatevers are kerrazy.
But just keep doing what you doing, you know? I'm not the one who's gonna need haemmorhoid removal surgery.
A couple of days ago I decided to give Alien Covenant a try as it is the one Alien movie I haven't watched yet.
I had no high expectations of it as I already had read somewhere that people found it disappointing, but that did not prepare me for what I was going to see.
I am not going to spoil the storyline as that would require me to write down everything I have seen so far with perhaps one exception, that I decided to quit the movie when David, the android from Prometheus showed up again.
The movie the was just so incredibly boring. I know it needed some time to set up elements for the story just like how Alien and Aliens started very calm before the action and the horror sets in (sorry if I mangled that sentence).
But at least the openings were interesting and helped set the mood. Here I just felt like walking away and do something else until the movie would finally 'take off', but that never happened despite the chaos at the opening.
Damn, I should like this stuff as it was world building but I didn't.
I felt it was long and drawn out.
Even the few horror segments that I did saw wasn't that interesting.
Oh and I also have to comment how dumb the characters were for the sake of convenience for the plot of the movie.
These people land on an alien planet and take no precautions like air filtration masks just in case the atmosphere contained any pathogens dangerous to human health.
Maybe I will try to finish this movie as I already made it that far but I honestly don't feel like it as I have plenty of other things to watch that interest me more.
I also saw the third episode of Alien Earth.
There were some plot developments in the episode but it felt like a lot was pointlessly drawn out.
the kids in mature android bodies remain a source of annoyance, their behavior really breaks with the atmosphere the series is trying to set.
One of the most far fetched elements in the episode was when the character named Wendy (I don't know what the character's original name was, managed to decapitate an alien with a blade. She might be an android but seeing how the alien tore apart whole rooms full of people, some of them armed with machine guns, I find this very ridiculous
Except for the opening not a lot of action happened in this episode.
