I am gonna consult the academic consultant to see if there is something more focused on drawing envirorments or spaces, I am lacking on it and I actually give a shit about the topic, unlike a second class drawing with charcoal.

lawl, but don't you want to express yourself expressively? Man every one of my artsy friends, back when I had friends, were into expressiveness, I was the only geek *illustrator*, trying to draw things and stuff and the world we live in

I can draw exoressively with things that aren't Charcoal. I wish I could take another Painting class this semester, I feel like I was actually getting into acrylics.

Acrylics are fun to use on wood. Haven't used them much on canvas or paper though. Charcoal is a bit boring after using color.

Aren't you working as a graphic designer, so now you're studying art?
Walpknut

I am doing both. I am studying art for my personal projects. Graphic design is to put money on my wallet.

But why are you studying it or hopeing to gain? Don't get me wrong, I am not saying you shouldn't do it, I just personaly - maybe trough my ignorance - saw studying art as rather useless.
Walpknut

Because my personal projects are all art related. I hope to gain more traditional art skills that aren't related to Graphic design, I feel that my illustration work is lagging behind and I don't feel confident on my current level to start my projects, one involving a Comic and the other an art project to present for a scholarship on Japan.

This might sound like I want to talk you out of studying, which I don't, if you feel this is a good path, go for it! I toyed around with the idea of becoming an illustrator at some point. I just think, you can pick up the necessary skills without studying art as well, what you said about charcoral kinda reinforced my feeling here. Art is like sport I think. You have to do it to become better.

And for that, you don't need an university in my opinion. Again, I am not saying don't do it. If you think it helps you, awesome. But I feel, you could also go by learning on your own and at your own pace, getting anatomy books, drawing, drawing and more drawing.

Auto didactry is what has led me to stagnate and it's pretty isolationist and masturbatory. I rather have an education envirorment where I get teachers and other students to interact with will lead to a better result. Also I have it with only working and interacting with engineers, I wanna meet more art oriented profesionals with whom I can network with.

A good reason and I can relate to that. I'll say I am biased, somewhat. At the end of the day, I think what matters is your dedication and your work, not your degree. This is somewhat unique to art-related work. I remember this illustrator who studied art and became pretty succesfull as concept artist, he said, it didn't help him at all in his career, even though studying art was super interesting.

I am not studying for a degree, I am studying for the skills. If I just wanted the degree I could just ask for my College grades and start homologuing courses and skip half the curriculum, which I am not interested in doing.
Also for that Japan Scholarship I do need a degree.

I looked in to it and I found the interview I talked about, professional concept artist Noah Bradley. It's very interesting and if you have the time you should maybe watch it I think:

Particularly the part where he says, that more skilled people than he struggled with finding a job, despite studying art.

I don't know why you insist on the work aspect of it when I already told you I already have Graphic Design for the money and that the art classes are for my personal projects and a Scholarship.
And I mean, is easy for someone who went to art school to tell others to not go to art schools after they themselves make it big. Also he is talking from an USA context that doesn't apply to me.
