You could consider "the long peace" a golden age (well many places will disagree with that term, like Vietnam, Korea, half of middle east, Yugoslavia etc.) This long peace seem to be crawling towards an end, as Russia gains more and more bargaigning power, and The West lose leverage (thanks Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp!)
