Peta is doing the whole judgement thing. I don't wanna throw needless fuel on the PETA-hate train, but I saw an interview with one of their leaders - not *the* one, but another one, who was confronted with the fact that her medicine was tested on animals

Her response was that she was still against animal testing, but that *she herself* deserved this medicine more, since she lived for helping animals - so in a sense - animals had sacrificed themselves for her benefit

Their whole attitude seem to be a kind of "i know animals on a spiritual level, that noone else could ever understand", that justifies everything they do next.

Exactly. They’re fucking insane and conform to Bethesda game logic. I honestly believe that unless an animal is suffering or being hunted for food, then they shouldn’t be killed at all. I’m not a hypocrite about this, I hunt, but I only hunt what I can eat.

If I confirmed to PETA logic I would hunt, then belittle other hunters for not using the buck’s hooves despite the fact that I myself don’t. They’re a group of damn idiots and it’s sad that actual animal rights groups like ASPCA are overshadowed by these fucking lunatics.

I wish we had groups like ASPCA here, then again, we don't need such groups yet. I don't think we have the demographics for it, but unfortunately, the very few times animal abuse does come to light, our cops are usually kind of unenthusiastic about following up.

Spain still has bullfighting, which has lots of secondary effects on populace's general attitude toward animals, giving Spain a rather eager animal abuse culture (plenty of animal-torture-related games and festivals) - and correspondingly fervent animal-welfare community
