Also I suppose it's a good example for someone breaking out of the tired bitches and hoes style that has went from new and energetic to old and tired in not only musically but vocally with modern rappers sounding like they're on Xanax. Still not a fan of this album but it's fine. Also dude weed lmao.
I'm all for the mumble rap, bih suc muh dic whatever you want to call it. I don't like it, but I like seeing how many people it pisses off because they only like rap because of Eminem as if he wasn't saying the same shit. Let the kids evolve shit and try new things.
I was referring to how modern rap has stagnated at the start of my point, I dislike most rap because of this stagnation. I have no problems with people liking whatever and can evolve the genre however they see fit, however I can shit all over it if I want to.
Mumble rapping is just an offshoot, which seems to be the complete opposite of the early manic and energetic variety. Trading that in for a sleepy, Xanax laden, and frankly boring sound.
I don't think it's stagnated much at all. It's more exiting a golden age, so maybe slowing down. We just saw the boom of mumble rap and similar styles, experimental groups seeing massive success, throwback styles, new styles, etc. Within the past 10-15 years. And yeah, you can shit all over whatever you want to and I can respond to it. And I can shit on something and you can discuss it with me if you want.
I dislike a lot of mumble rap, some of it is okay sonically, rarely do I like it as a whole package. I mostly hate the name because of the "rap" part where as this is more hype man style of hiphop. Rap is more focused on lyrical content and clever uses of language. Gucci Gang is not so much in comparison.
Fair enough, I'm not very into the genre, so I wouldn't know much of what's going on as of recent. I tend to wear my musical tastes on my sleeve as it is.
