Perhaps I haven't played enough games. But most of the games that I did were not significant to even be remembered. I might add Red Alert 2 somewhere in there, and besides, there are quite a few great free flash games that I had enjoyed.

1. Half-life 1 & 2 and it's various mods (CS beta 5.2 through 1.6 mainly) -Spent more of my life playing this game than any other. It was so revolutionary at the time! I was part of the UK CS scene, playing at the top of the British game for almost 6 years. No other shooter has ever quite captured the 'feel' of Half-life in terms of movement and weapon mechanics, except maybe Halo. 2. Eve-Online -I don't play this anymore. It was arguably responsible for me getting a less than spectacular 2:1 in Chemistry at Uni! Utterly amazing game though. The rest of the MMO's just don't come close in terms of politics, PVP, risk vs reward, comradery and longevity. WoW and all the other generic elf/orc beating titles are just dogshite in comparison. "Long live the fighters!" 3. Civilization (mainly 4 once patched and with expansions) -As a purely single player experience this game is unsurpassed. So much complex strategy involved, but once mastered it's just incredibly rewarding! 4. Fallout series -Mainly 1 & 2 of course. I'll include the whole series though as heavily modded Fallout 3 and NV are pretty damn good. 5. Football Manager series -For the same reasons as Half-life & Civ. I've spent so much time playing these games its unreal. 6. Xcom (UFO:EU, TFTD & Apocalypse) -I've sunk many hours into these gems, especially Apocalypse. They don't make em like they used to! 7. Morrowind -The other TES games don't come close to this masterpiece. 8. GTA -Every single game in this series has been amazing, without exception. San Andreas was probably the pinnacle and if the rumours surrounding GTA V are to be believed then it's going to be more like San Andreas than the other games! 9. Halo series (mainly 1 & 2 because they came out on PC) -There's still no rival in terms of a tactical FPS imo. The balance of weapons and the ability/dedication required to play these games on 'legendary' makes them hugely enjoyable. 10. Thief series (mainly 1 & 2) -Sneaking has never been better and given the way things are going, I doubt it ever will be. :/ Honourable mentions for Deus Ex, Baldurs Gate/NWN & System Shock 2. Of course there will be games I've forgotten about too! Edit: Damnit, forgot about STALKER! That's somewhere in my top 10. Edit 2: Dark souls gets a mention as the best console game I think I've ever played. Edit 3: Damnit, forgot about the X series. Mainly X3, Single player Eve!
Diablo II Quake III Arena (even though I love the 1st one with a passion as well...) Morrowind Final Fantasy Tactics STALKER : Call of Prypiat (that I like just a lil' bit more than Shadow of Chernobyl) Eye of the Beholder II Tekken III Fallout : New Vegas Left 4 Dead 1 Cauldron II (for its fucking unbelievable difficulty)
10 games I love in no particular order: 1. Resident Evil (Original with hilariously bad voicing) 2. Metal Gear Solid 3. Deus Ex 4. Max Payne 5. Fallout I & II 6. Timesplitters 2 7. GTA: Vice City/San Andreas (Hard to decide, VC was the first game I ever played) 8. Fallout 3/ New Vegas (Hard to decide) 9. Pokemon Gold 10. Resident Evil 2
not in order, best at the time they were current...basically my most memorable Zork (TRS-80) Bioshock (360) Sins of a Solar Empire (PC) Angband (PC) XCOM (PC) Civilization (Mac) Base Wars (NES) Life Force / Gradius (NES) R-Type (Arcade) Marathon (Mac) Honorable mentions: Samurai Shodown 2 (arcade) Virtua Fighter 1, (arcade) Castlevania 2 (NES) Pirate Adventure (VIC-20)
No Particular Order Doom 2 Fallout 2 Deus Ex. Final Fantasy VI Sonic 3 & Knuckles X3 and it's expansions ArmA 2 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Duke Nukem 3D Honorable Mentions Gothic Neverwinter Nights (I don't like to include multiplayer games in the main list simply because once the player base dies out, there really is no reason to keep going back to play) Starcraft Fallout New Vegas Grand Theft Auto IV Unreal Tournament (Same reason as why NWN didn't make the main list.) Edit: Because I'm way too indecisive. And damn, I didn't realize I already made a previous post about this. Oh well, this list is much more detailed.
Pokemon... Times they are a changin' I remember buying a 3dfx, and later a second, to be able to play FF VII. Now it's near impossible to get it working on a graphics card that's ludicrously more powerful.
ePSXe + PSX version = success. No point in bothering with the PC port anyway, and it might even look a little less ugly with the plugins properly configured (not by much though).
